Don't think I've ever been as nervous about a non-MFC game as I am today. But I think that even if the Crows get up and we make finals, I'll still feel a little hollow.
-
Some absolute shockers, but we need to be good enough to win no matter what the influence of the umpires is like.

Massive season next year for Jesse.

My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood
Little Richard replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Desperately needed his intensity today. -
Hard to break the habit of finishing the season in round 23 when it's been the case for 10 years... I guess.
-
I am absolutely devastated. Struggling to string words together... but that was one of the most gutless, spineless efforts I've ever seen on a footy field. Our club is an embarrassment and that might be two years in a row we've had a chance to play finals and done absolutely nothing about it. I felt so empty leaving that ground today. I don't often get emotional about footy but today really got me.

Jake Spencer courted by other clubs
Little Richard replied to Demons1858's topic in Melbourne Demons
It makes sense for Spence to find his groove elsewhere, and good on him if he does. -
Hard to split Milkshake and Vince from outside 50 on the run IMO. But Milkshake has probably kicked more of them recently.
-
Watts for me. Sensational stuff from McDonald so far, but it's a small sample to draw from compared to Watts, whose set shot routine has held up since he started.
-
I'd be reasonably confident against Richmond or even Port in Adelaide. Sydney in Sydney, in a final... probably the hardest ask in footy at the moment.

Silly report.

How many current and past players read/post on Demonland?

I'd like to take a moment to congratulate you on some very consistent footy. Ignore the haters, but keep practising those kicks. -
ANB is a must keep. Frost not as important, but as you say if we pick up another defender it needs to be considered. JKH is one I would trade, but his value is hard to put a number on. Scintillating form in the VFL and has had some solid games when he comes in and plays in the middle, but just doesn't get the opportunities.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 22
Little Richard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We must tag Zorko IMO. He's their match winner and doesn't handle a tag well. Blanket him, and we take away a lot of their bite. -

One in particular. For the sake of privacy, let's call him J Watts. Actually, that's too obvious. Let's say Jack W. -

No, Jack Watts is jumbo returns. -

I expect guys like Robbo, Ox and Garry Lyon would jump on here at times considering their involvement in the media. It's a good way to gauge how the hardcore supporters are feeling, and occasionally get some useful information. -
Seem to remember Brad Miller wearing a helmet, but might not have been for long.
-
The hard ball that he won at 5:35, with the game still in the balance was huge. Did exactly what he needed to do to wrestle back the momentum (along with Jones) and I really feel that he's going to fire when it most counts - the pointy end of the year. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2017-08-13/highlights-melbourne-v-st-kild

I still wear the scarf I've had since I was about 6. Probably time to wash it...

Long line is an understatement. There were hundreds of people waiting!
-
Right you are, I was thinking of Hickey. Thanks for the correction.
-
Very harsh on Weideman IMO. He played his role and competed pretty well. Also showed a physical side I hadn't seen from him so I hope they persevere. He'll be better for the games and will be playing against players more his size against Brisbane. Watts didn't do enough yesterday to warrant a promotion next week.
-
Sensational win and really a case of doing it where it counts. Slowly but surely the club has become mentally stronger. I really thought we were going to drop it at one stage but to fight back and wrestle back the momentum was a huge result.

Maxy was pretty stiff today on a number of frees IMO, but Billy Longer seems to excel against Max more than any other ruck man in the competition. Not sure why, but he's a bit like Maxy's kryptonite.
