Collingwood - One trick pony
With the amount of pressure they brought, id say it motivated them quote alot. Utterly stupid thing to say.

Excellent point re Jackson - Darcy is 24. Jackson wld be second ruck forever. Gawn is 30 and we are already loading him up to be 1st ruck.

River's depth of kicking... he shd be taking kick outs or be the guy in th epocket taking the second kick from kickouts. Salem only gets 45 on his kicks ...

Trade and Free Agency rumours
I guess because that might have to be the sacrifice Grundy has to make if he wants to play with Melb. No doubt he cld stay at the pies or go to another club that has oodles of salary cap space and retain the $. I just cant see melb paying huge coin for a second ruckman. Didnt we get BBB on a lower pay day, essentially because it was the right move\fit? Thats what im thinking of, but sure, he has a contract, BBB didnt.

Agree. That remains the question. Freo played into our hands. Pies will be a good test for our game style.

Hunt in to cover one of their 4 quicks is a good move.- Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
I consider the long contracts a strategic cap approach. Means we can pay under market for prime years, allowing us to maximise the talent on the list during our premiership window. Then at the back end of the deals, player performance might tapper off but realistically we'll be going into rebuild.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Glad it wasn't just me that thought that about the bounce of the ball. Good points.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Geelong
They played with a lot more intensity and hardly let up. Both had 5 day breaks: They had a training run at home last game and we had a tough away game (even if Adelaide are a bottom side). Just saying. Be interesting to watch them play on a normal size oval, but i cant be bothered watching them. Missing another quality tall marking option. Although BB was encouaging in the first half.- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Feels like they are playing in a phone box.- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Geelong
If anyone wants to pass on a spare ticket... living a few blocks away from the ground in enemy territoy but couldn't get a ticket. I might ride around on the bike, MCF flag unfurled... Pumped !- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Geelong
I get the impression parking is an issue, id get the train to South Geelong.- What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
The venue is a huge influence in this game. I wonder if they get a home game there come finals, as they have been lobbying for some time, anyone know?- CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
The role Goodie has for BBB is to compete for the the long ball, usually against an outnumber, with the purpose being to bring it to ground. The fact he is 200 cm helps him do this along with the method of flying up with only one arm extended. Its a bit of a waste of talent, but so wld a plan to use our average kicking skills to hit him up on a lead exposing us on the rebound. Having our best contested mark in Gawn play in the 50 is pretty appealing.- GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
Having not watched any crows games, does anyone have an informed take on their 3 outs? Outside running players? Will they lose a bit of run?- Clayton Oliver: A Demon for Life
I would think the long contract gives us a bit of flexibility with our cap. Run his contract out to his 33rd year allowing us to pay him a bit less in our premiership window years and comparatively more in the back end rebuild years.- Clayton Oliver: A Demon for Life
YES !!!!!! On ya Clarry !- Farewell Luke Jackson
This idea that 'once he nominates Freo there is nothing we can do and we HAVE to trade with them as if they have us over a barrel is BS. Hard'n up people. If Jacko doesn't get exactly what he wants in a trade, so be it. He obviously still loves the dees, so im sure he'll cope just fine if theres no trade. Plenty of players have experienced that. Im super confident he doesnt want to play at Nth and super confident Nth would 't let him slide by - being a hugely tradeable asset the following year. Its up to Freo to convince us to let him go. So what are they going to do about it? When it was Lever, we had to give up up 2 x firsts. May was pick 5 or so. We have to agree to the deal. - POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
