  1. To my mind Rosman is the future TMac replacement. 194 cm, with strong marking hands and brilliant endurance. I think he has been out on a wing just as a waiting position. Hell I remember Chip Frawley played his first few games on a wing because he had pace. Rosman is a long game
  2. Liking those attributes. Rounds out our draftees with some ground balls / clean hands etc which was stated as a weakness during the season and reason they were keen to play Bowey.
  3. Didn't realise JT was so tall. Great vid. Love the insight into the importance of the play psych profile. I think that might be where JT has a special talent.
  4. Ow, how about we entice Dawson to the dees instead, now that we have the capital to do the deal? Might end up better for us than Cerra.
  5. Win win here I think. I believe he signed a 4 yr extension in 2018 at the peak of his powers when he was arguably in our top 5 most important players. So expect he is on decent coin. So moving him on frees up wasted cap space and gives him a better chance at playing senior footy and getting a 2 year deal to extend his career. Really liked him as a player, great finisher, but wasn't a spot in the 22 with the way we play. In 2018 he was the no. 1 contested player inside 50 from memory.
  6. Last time we played the dogs I remember Gawn taking a lot of ball out of the ruck and slamming it fwd. Think it will work well in the GF.
  7. Thank God! He's the goose that lays the golden eggs - or at least spots em.
  8. Watching the replay and seeing Toby Green jumping up pumping the fists shouting ' Maxy' was just awesome! Just love all the support getting behind the dees ! 2018 was a wave but 2021 is swelling a tsunami! The atmosphere at the ground must have been amazing - it was in my living room!
  9. My first instinct is I don't like it - we're well stocked for mids already - it would just mean someone like Harmes or Sparrow or Brayshaw not getting a game along with Jordan. But, I get Cerra is a better kind of mid for our mix. Maybe we don't have all the pieces of the puzzle - maybe we are likely to loose someone in the off season, like Sparrow. Or how about this for a conspiracy theory: we know Mr Bell will ask for Jackson - which causes Jackson's manager says to Dogga 'hey, if you are thinking of going back home, now is an open window' - we ask for Cerra and their first round pick who we use for Andrew Mac who is the same type of player as Dogga and who we know well. If Dogga doesn't bite, then we know we don't have to worry about his contract extension. If he goes ( and I though I heard he had been coy about his intentions) then we say to Weid - resign b/c it's between you and Daw to have the third tall/backup ruck role for the next two seasons. Or we are being ruthless ( like we were with discussions with TMac and ANB) and we have a honest conversation with some players we think are surplus to need and encourage some player movement. It's been a long week waiting for Friday night...
  10. This. Cerra might be a good player and may be an upgrade in skills that we need, but injuries aside, he would be pushing out a very good player from our 22. That's wasted resources and salary cap. I think it's better to keep our powder dry, let Taylor do his thing at the draft and work on our key fwd legacy plan. That's is unless a player was intending to go back to Perth and its a swap of players.
  11. Maybe the Cerra dees report is a subtle way of teasing any Melb players wanting to go to Perth to show their hand.
  12. Perhaps it's all a ploy to fire up TMac ahead of the finals ?
  13. He looked good in the few VFL games I saw him this year on the telly.
  14. Weid would have been a nice inclusion, but I just couldn't find a spot for him. We'd have to drop either A mid rotation - but fatigue coming back from Perth and and a running Crows team a concern, A pressure fwd - see above, Melk or Fritta - both deserve their spot. I wonder if Melk can display enough intensity this week to take Spargo's spot going fwd. Ie. match Spargo for pressure and link up but add to our fwd 50 polish.
  15. Yeah, Harmes and Viney have been terrible. Bring in JJ for one of them.
  16. If Nth come last they might low ball followed by trying to get Weid to walk through the pre-season draft.
  17. Interesting we convincingly won all the game statistics, bar tackles, goal kicking efficiency and free kicks.
  18. We are not good being favourites. Hawks game plan of intense tackling and scrubby kicks fwd at any opportunity with nothing to lose might be the best way to play against Melb. And kick straight. Particularly when you know Melb w'ont lkick straight and can't put the foot down so always leave the door open. Certainly feels like a lose, but handy 2 pts for the ladder - my pride has been whacked, I so hate Hawthorn.
  19. This. Plus add the Essendon players to that. The ump was heard saying to the Essendon player "stop shouting at me". Much prefer the culture Goodie has developed. Also means we are professional and aren't playing on emotion. Essendon, Richmond, Brisbane, Geelong - they're all insufferable.
  20. Genuine question: their Rucks (mainly Daniher) would continually push ours in the back in the ruck contest. Surely thats not allowed or is it ?
  21. Garry looked like a super proud father, barely holding it together. Wish he'd had let it out.
  22. Would love to see some options lead out on the 45 when we have the ball carrier running towards goal from centre break. And if they do kick it directly towards goal, have them pull the kick to land it 15m out rather than kick it to the goal line. Wasting opportunities... need more set plays.
