This is what concerns me. I know it is only pre-season, but we have a near full strength side while Essendon have a lot of key players out. We also had a 2 week break compared to a 6 day turn around. Not a great sign in my eyes.

That is true. I should have articulated myself a bit better and said something along the lines of we are not playing great football and we have done a lot wrong. But if we win, we win.

10 points down last quarter. Certainly agree that we do not deserve to win, but might have the legs to run it out better.

I know we can't play this ground, but we have a much stronger team player tonight compared to Essendon who are without Watson, Hille, Zaharakis plus more. Pretty ordinary start, but long way to go. Wish I could watch it, any live streaming?

Top 4 for the Dee's is far too optimistic. Top 8 is a realistic goal this year, but we will be fighting for the last couple of spots I would reckon. Essendon will do better than 15th. Brisbane are in the worst position at the moment.

I too am pretty excited for the club at this point in time. Last year was a massive improvement and hopefully it will continue into 2011.

Should be a good game I reckon. Melbourne outplayed Essendon considerably last year and I can't imagine Hird making that much of a difference. He is a legend though.

Certainly won't be Brisbane, Bombers just thumped them by 10 goals. St Kilda v Brisbane about to start. Essendon went in with a pretty strong squad, I would guess over 90%. Brisbane went in with a much younger and inexperienced squad.

If GWS has signed Scully, Sheedy wouldn't come out and even speak about it. He would sit happily in content that he knew he was leaving. The reason Sheedy has even come out to talk about it is because they haven't got him. This is my opinion anyway. Sheedy is a strange old man though, so who knows. Another person (Curry and Beer) has now got inside info. 95% of people who say they know something or have heard something legit have indicated it is likely he will stay. Surely of all those claims, at least some have some merit?

Good to hear so much positive rumblings about the situation.

I went Sylvia, Grimes and Scully, but we have a lot of great players who are worthy. Exciting times ahead for sure.

Here's to a successful 2011 I say. 2012 will sort itself out, and for now Scully is a Demon and deserves all the support he can get from the club and the supporters.

I still need to get a membership. Never had before but it is time to jump on board.

Possible, but not the case here.

I am more interested now in all the members of this forum (and BigFooty) that apparently know someone who has told them/indicated to them that Scully is a) signing with MFC soon, b ) has signed with GWS, c) has in fact not signed but is waiting until end of year or d) insert other situation here. So many people have this inside information despite it all contradicting each other. What is the motivation for pretending that you have inside knowledge when, in fact, you know nothing?
