On current form, Essendon and Carlton would smash us. I penciled us in for a win against Essendon but for some bloody reason*, Hird has been able to bring the absolute best out of that group and they should make the 8 easily this year. * No doubt because he is a legend of the game and understand modern football really well

This forum would implode for one. In all seriousness, if this were to occur, the whole playing group should hang their hands in shame. Bailey should start looking for a new job too. The team needs to show some grunt and show the football world they are not soft and easy targets. The fact that many people see Melbourne as the Suns' first possible win only highlights the poor perception this club has from non-supporters (and some supporters mind you). Cannot see it happening.

We should all be film crickets!
-
There is a serious problem from within the team if they are ignoring a player.

Good find RotA

Just for the record, when is the last time Melbourne beat a team by over 100. I reckon Melbourne have flogged teams much less than other AFL sides. I know we smashed Sydney last year, but prior to that, can't remember a win of that margin or more.
-
Hope he has a ripper game soon so we can all be backing him.
-
They will be heavily backed I reckon.

I read your original post a bit quickly and thought you implied our performance was poorer due to the wet, hence by weather update. But your sarcasm is appreciated.

I am sure there is room for sensible discussion with your head somewhere in between your own arse and the sand Edit: if everybody is going to get their panties in a knot over this topic, just close the thread.
-
Apparently it is going to be wet on Sunday in Brisbane Edit: 26 with Showers, 5-10mm of rain expected

Convinced his gone? Fair enough, a possibility. I am not sure why you are not allowed to express your opinion about this matter. Sure, I can understand that starting multiple threads on the same issue is a problem (forgive me for doing so again), but the others are locked so there is little choice. I was quite upset at the prospect of losing him, and still am. But with free agency coming in soon, there is no choice but to get used of this type of thing and at least we get a draft pick in return if he does leave. This will not be the case in most other instances.

Elaborate

I've noticed people have had a go at guessing the margin by which Melbourne will beat the Suns (or possibly vice versa) so thought we'd start a poll on this issue.
-
I agree with you mate. I was just posing the question. My thoughts are that Pendlebury and Thomas staying only highlight how few players will want to make that choice to leave. Of course, both of these players are at a powerful club at its prime with plenty of money. Melbourne, though, is an up and coming club (hopefully) that should appeal to a young player.
-
Putting your head in the sand won't make the issue go away. I am happy for it to be merged, but if supporters want to discuss this issue, they should be able to. If you want no part in that discussion, then do not click on the thread.

I only heard this on Seven News earlier, so might not be 100% but apparently Pendlebury has signed with the Maggies and Thomas is likely to do so soon. Obviously, this mean that all three Magpie targets have declined to move, which is great to see really. It will/may have implications on the Scully saga too, as it might mean more money is thrown at him (assuming he is still a target). It is also concerning that players of this calibre can come out and signal their intent to stay whilst we hear nothing. I know another Scully thread is probably unwanted, but given the recent developments re: Pendlebury and Swan, it is worth pondering again. Thoughts? P.S - many people who claimed to have "had it on good word" that Scully will sign soon (saying within the next month well over a month ago) are awfully quiet these days. I noted many of these such claims on this forum and bigfooty.

It did here! No, not really. I was going to buy membership this past game against Brisbane(my 1st for 2011) but didn't go due to weather. I am planning on going to Melb v Adelaide so will buy one then

This is my biggest concern about the club. They do seem to lack confidence and a mental toughness at times. They seem to let their thinking affect them too much. I hope to god we do not lose to GC Sunday, but we need to be prepared for a tough game. GC will no doubt see us a their potential first win.
-
I honestly reckon this whole debate will be much more sensible at the end of this season. I too can see both the concern of some posters and the need to be patient from others. If his form at the end of the year has changed little compared to how it is now, then I'll start to be a bit concerned. At the end of the day, we picked him and not Hurley or Natanui, so we need to accept that and see how things go.
-
Obviously he is needed but his actual performances have been ver ordinary for a VC.
-
Not much to be excited about. I went down to the pub to watch the second half, and it was a terrible game with lots of turn overs and skill errors (yes it was wet, but some of them were inexcusable). Gysberts is a star, racked up 25 possies and kicked a goal. I liked Martin today too. He was clean for a tall bloke and done some nice things. Moloney and Jones were pretty good with 63 disposals between them. Davey is really off and should be dropped for his performance in the last few weeks. Dissapointed that Watts had another fairly average game that resulted in him being subbed. Morton was useless coming on though. I am not very confident doing into next week. A pretty awful game despite taking the 4 points.

More than likely. I know most us that have posted in here already will get 'MFCSS' thrown at us, but I am sick of pathetic performances. Yes, the 1st quarter hasn't finished but I can already sense the loss. I might come back at full time, hope I have to eat my own words.

4 goal buffer on us already. What a pathetic club.
