  1. Great team, and a tough decision to drop Nathan. Much as I was keen for Jones to be celebrated last week, swapping him out for Brown and keeping good delivery in Melksham makes us a much better team. Nathans future is in the hands of the footy gods now, and he’ll always get my appreciation and respect. Ruthless decision and a sure way to ensure no complacency creeps into our boys work tomorrow. Go demons.
  2. If Lever and May went down, you would have Petty replace Lever and have Tomlinson roll into Mays role, Hibbard play last line ( in Tomlinson’s spot) and bring in Jetta as well as Petty... ... before you’d have TMac go to the backline again. Take him too long to relearn their system.
  3. Both Lever and Rance are/were beneficiaries of good defensive structures that make their success almost inevitable. The number of times the opposition pop it up for Lever to easily intercept would be embarrassing for them, if it wasn’t a deliberate result of us executing our game plan. Both great players, but Rance was a prat... so Lever by a mile.
  4. Here we go, here we go, here we go... Here we go, here we go, here we go... Go Demons.. ???
  5. I loved Maxy’s slap-punch on Nankirvis as they argued, and then his Cale Morton like running away from him... Made me laugh.
  6. Watching VFL and Weid and Brown made me think of another good aspect of our team selection to take on the Tigers tonight, by not playing our key forwards we are not giving the Tigers a look at our likely line up should we meet in September (assuming we go that far). Where as, we’re getting another look at this Richmond team.
  7. A fascinating sub-plot tonight for me is how Pickett, Jackson and Rivers perform on the big stage in a big occassion game against the best opposition... Go boys, reputations are built on nights like tonight.
  8. Salem’s poise, strength and ability to dispose cleanly and to good options under intense pressure make him an ideal player for finals footy. Reckon he will thrive should we get to September. his leadership off the back flank has reminded me of Hodge’s leadership at Brisbane recently.
  9. Truly cant tell if we're ready to duke it out with the Tigers, as thus far this season we've rarely been challenged for any sustained period. So Saturday, assuming the Tiggers bring their A-game, will be our first genuine test for a full four quarters this season. Fascinated to see how the individuals, team, structures, connections, communication and morale hold up. As others have said, will reveal a lot about where we are at. Go Demons
  10. I find it bizarre that some supporters would question us celebrating Jones on Saturday with comments about his form etc... YET at the same time are wanting our guns to sign on to being one club players. Clubs that treat their senior players with respect build culture, trust and bonds that younger players want to be part of. If the boys can beat the Tigers on Jones’s 300th we’d have stepped up to genuine contenders while honouring one of our best. Win or lose on Saturday, by honouring Nate we make our club stronger, and our elder players more “sacred”, a very good thing. Well done and thank you Nathan, and Go Demons!!!
  11. Fair enough Old Dee. My Dad died late last year, so this is my first season without him, and it has taken on a melancholy tone as a result. But I must say, I did feel perked up after a couple of beautiful goals by the boys on the weekend, accompanied by the roar of the crowd, and Dad would have approved and felt likewise. I hope when covid is sorted, and you feel safe, you can return to the G, so one day we can enjoy us lifting that elusive cup..
  12. R U OK old Dee?
  13. Agree Jaded. I think that Jackson is a forward in the same way Tracc is, in that he's a burst midfielder who can also impact going forward. Imagine teams trying to plan for those two rotating through the middle and forward lines... Also on Jackson up forward, when Weid and Brown are our talls, and Jackson gets the opposition 3rd tall back, watch out! as it should be brutal. Go Dees
  14. Sunday was my first look at Bradke and I think he’s coming on fine. Thought he showed enough to warrant a spot, plus he has the frame to put on strength as he matures. Ideally, he’s fully developed in a couple of years so can step up into Max’s spot.
  15. High volume 3 min dirty bird advert at Quarter time, so loud. Perhaps let us talk and commune... AFL??
  16. Casey 62 Hawks 26
  17. We play Doggies, Cats and Giants all twice this season, so good opportunities to see how we’re travelling and shape our approach to September (should we be good enough to get there)...
  18. I like that our backline has been set up with such an offensive stance... gives us a lot of quality forward entries given the quality of our mid field... keep winning and when Ben and Sam get back we’ll find another level...
  19. The round 9 clash between Port and Dogs will show where both clubs are at, and their prospects for 2021...
  20. Ladder position at this stage is highly influenced by the draw and form of teams in the early season. Doggies have had a good early draw, and, to their credit, have “filled their boots” (as the Could—a-beens would say) . These distortions ease or can be seen by Round 8-9, we’re doing ok (as are the doggies), but it’s early days in season 2021. interestingly, if we were to assault this year for a flag we’d have to confront the Tiger dynasty and overcome it. Loved being reminded that Mark Williams flag ended the Lions dynasty... just say’n Go dees
  21. Dogs have dismantled North and Suns... witches hats...
  22. We dealt very well to get him for what we paid.
  23. 4 goal lead for 4 quarters = 16 goal win. BOG: Aden Yze (Clarko’s prodigy and nemeses) Go Demons
  24. Why’s Sparriw on?
