  1. I have watched some highlights and I don't think he is worthy of a pick 6. He uses his strength to win the ball but that will not work in the AFL against bigger and stronger bodies.
  2. The phantom drafts are dependent on the recruiters giving information to the journalist who the club is interested in, at one stage WB was sold on Watson now its Sanders because Hawthorn saw something in Watson. If Curtain is there when we have a pick his upside is tremendous plays Forward, Back and Midfield.
  3. I reckon the men should donate their portion to the women
  4. They were facts as I was there working for the MFC at the time and was informed of the information from Ray Jordan who was Barassi's right hand man unfortunately Richard was unaware that Ray was out recruiting players. This secret died with all of them.
  5. Lets be realistic and none of the above will happen because Harley is not worth 3 first round picks under 11. Melbourne made the same mistake in the 80's with Moore and Templeton who was a crock they gave away 3 interstate draft picks and could not afford 2 good players who wanted to play under Barassi, clearing Jackson as well. 6 and 11 should be good players.
  6. Great highlights his disposal is excellent and has great depth with his kicking probably will be judged too small. I for one would pick him at 42, if he was still there.
  7. By the way if the MFC delist Melksham there are then 6 spots on the senior list and if they decrease the rookie list to 5 there can be 7 spots so they can recruit another senior list player.
  8. The first lists are due on the 31st of October so they had to make a decision on Kye Turner and AMW. Kye did not get much of a chance to show his talent at VFL level due to injury, spots on the list are very tight.
  9. The round 17 highlights may be described as lowlights of an aggressive player who lost his feet and did poor tackles. His disposal was nowhere good enough for a high draft pick.
  10. Some players who are from Tassie will to return to the Apple Isle just to be close to family and friends but others will not because the club will be a whipping boy like GWS, GC and the Bears.
  11. His highlights are good but you have to see him in the flesh to see what he does when he has not got the ball, his highlights mainly show that he can mark a ball and kick goals from about 40-45 meters. Also I noticed that his kicking lack the depth required by a CHF. I need a large sample to say yes or no to recruiting him at 6 or 11.
  12. I would not allow grundy to leave without at least pick 23 being offered
  13. He had too many limitation and was never going to be anything other than depth in our premiership year, he was taking up Fritsch's position on the forward line without the return.
  14. I looked at Jake and he has turned back the clock to 2018 when he was sensational I believe his poor form in the last 2/3 years may have been attributed to his very young family and a lack of sleep. When Gary Hardiman returned from SA and played for the MFC his poor form I attributed to his job as a Fisherman who started work at 4:00am.
  15. When he was recruited I said he was better than Hayden Young who every man and a dog wanted him. JT and I were on the same page.
  16. Looks like our father son prospect is playing this week K. Brown?
  17. Harry is a better mark than Neitz and after watching the replay several times he marks the ball at full stretch which gives the backs less chance of spoiling him, he has the agility and will only get better as forward. He reminds me of Steven Smith with his agility and played some games as a forward.
  18. I would give 3 first (Freo's 1st MFC first 2023 and 2024 might throw in MFC 2nd 2023) for Reid if West Coast give the MFC their 1st for 2024.
  19. He needs lots of work in the weights room to be an AFL player.
  20. Harley Reid is no doubt a good U18 footballer but 3 first rounders is a bit rich for an untried player with potential to be a star of the competition but playing against U18 against opponents who have less strenght is different to playing against men like Petracca or Cripps or Wines or Viney or Bontempelli who know how to push/tackle younger players with the ball or put them under pressure when they have the ball effecting their disposal. I hope we use our 4 picks under 40 well since it would se up a decade of success.
  21. Because he was delisted and rookie.
  22. Hi from Nick Daicos who might be the best of them all?
  23. Back in the VFL days before Ron Barassi the rucks consisted of 4 ruckmen, 2 in the centre bounce and one at each end, times have changed but forward craft changes. I would try Brodie as a Ruck Rover/Forward in the VFL since he is relatively good below his knees, relatively quick and would create space for the other players at the centre bounce.
  24. I am very happy Judd got a reward for a solid year to date and he seems to get better and better with each game and plays mainly on the last line of defence which has no backup unlike the HB's. I think that the best first year player award will be between JMcV and JVR, since Judd's performances are more consistant he should prevail.
