It is Hibberd

Having the game on Saturday afternoon would allow the supporters of all ages to attend the match and watch their team unfurl the flag raise by the heros of yester year.

It's the little things that make the whole
durango replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have supported the MFC since 1952 and after watch the Grand Final this team is easily the best team that has played for the MFC during my life time and could prove to be the greatest AFL team of all time if the players stay healthy and uninjured for the next 4-5 years. -
The hightlights are impressive

I think when Nic Natanui was drafted he was 199cm and is 202cm now so Luke maybe growing and end up over 200cm when he turns 25 since some people continue to grow until that age. He has not reached his optimum weight yet and when he gets to that playing weight he will be harder to push off the ball and at the centre bounce. He is a great young ruckman and his agility has been exceptional being a ruckman and extra midfielder makes him a dominant ruckman template.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
durango replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I feel sorry for McCartin whose dream of becoming an AFL star was limited by his bouts of concussion a la Brayshaw and have a medical condition to boot may have some effect on his performances. We got the better of this deal but the MFC had some of these boo boo's like Molan and Cook who never looked like AFL players at any stage of their time at the MFC. I remember when the MFC lost Schwarz to injury after injury how it curtailed him from becoming one of the greatest MFC players of all time. -
Yes if you listen to the match towards the end BT announced it and includes James Jordan.
-
He did what a lot of players were unable to do including his father who would be proud that at least 1 Viney has tasted the ultimate team success and now joins an exclusive MFC club of 151 players who have played in a premiership.
-
We are the first MFC team to have more than 20 players who played in the premiership team as well as the first team in the history of the AFL/VFL to have 23 premiership players receive the premiership medal.
-
When he joined the club a lot of people on demonland questioned whether he was worth the 2 first round picks which we gave up to get him from Adelaide and had the foul mouthed Walker malign him for leaving the Crows, accusing him of chasing the dollars rather than success. Well we suceeded where they failed Mr Tex Walker, have a good weekend sulk.
-
I would add supporters who purchased memberships and saw the 1964 premiership and hoped they would see another one but did not live long enough to see the 2021 premiership.
-
I was talking to a MFC Supporter the other and made a remark that it was ironic that Stan Alves and Peter Keenan had to go to North to win a premiership and Brown had to come to the MFC to win a premiership.
-
I think after watching the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter at least 5 times I looked at the Viney contribution and without his efforts the Petracca and Oliver gate crashing of the Bulldogs party would not have happened.
-
I have never seen a player who is a ruckman like Jackson produce a better first 30 games in 2 years which means that the upside is unbelievable. If he stay fit and health he will win at least one brownlow and one Norm Smith to go with Multipe Premiership in a fabulous career at the MFC.
-
His Grand Final performance was sensational and if he has not hit his ceiling then we are in for great ride in the future, his chemistry with Gawn Jackson Oliver and Viney is unbelievable. I don't care if he wins Brownlows but if he wins more Norm Smith's and Premierships then he will never feel he has missed out because team things are better the individual accolades.
-
But Rendell said our list is the best and we could win the next 4 premiership because we have such a young list were 9 players are under 22.
-
He was a not only a good player but a great leader respected by all players in the team, if he played today he would still kick it to the boundary line but near enough to a player to make it look like he was trying to pass the ball.

Who in the AFL buys a house for cash? Unless daddy or Mummy are multi-millionaires.
-
His contract will be upwards of $450K so he should be able to buy a house and furnish it, for his parents.
-
If you think a Hawthorn reject makes them better, I think they should have picked Talia who has a great record as an AFL Backman in my humble opinion.
-
I love how the MFC made their moves early and now sits back waiting for the AFL November Draft to add to it playing list. It is the first year that the highlight to our year is not the draft and the new players we are adding to our list in an attempt to win the holy grail of the AFL.
-
If you watch the last quarter of the Grand Final ANB was so intense that after Fritsch kicked his 5th goal I presume he said the 'game is not over yet' he reminded the player was still plenty of time left for a boilover.
-
Remember Daw is 31 going on 32 and Gawn is 29 going on 30 a ruckman in his early 20's or late teens would have a great grounding learning from these older players without being thrown to the wolves by playing in the ones when he is not ready. Also we have settled on a 2 ruck combination so we need the backup for Gawn and Jackson in the short term, we could use TMac, Brown or Weids in a pinch as the 2nd ruck.

Kane Cornes summed it up that the recruiting by our peers has done nothing to narrow the gap.

I deliberately used that word metal not mettle because I believe you need heat to make steel and when the heat is on they come to the fore.
