From memory, that first game he was on GAJ. -
The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Moonshadow replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well, many said the pp picks should have had the proviso that they are traded to get in experience. Low and behold, here they are. Can't see GCS doing better than Rowell and Anderson. Hope they don't [censored] it up again -

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy

Ok, if we must..... Stretch for 1 & 2. But we are getting shafted AGAIN! Watch Dew turn him into a gun! -
So the evidence for Clarko's ability to transform ex Melbourne players into guns (and leading on from that, why he'll do the same with Frost) amounts to 3 good games by Chip out of 86 and one passage of play by Fitzy??? FMD... I rest my case, Your Honour.

Hyperbole. The reality is it was picks 10 and 19 for Lever We got pick 6 for Hogan which could've been Ben King if we had taken it to draft night. Alas, we didn't. And Hogan has been quite the flop for Freo. Please name an ex Melbourne player that Clarko has improved?
-
We've been into him for so many years he will be heading towards the ripe old age of 28 by start of next season. Pick 3 for Gaff only? Can't see it happening.
-
It was thin even with JKH and Stretch
-
Cerra and 26 for 3??? As good as Gaff is, it's worth remembering he will be approaching 28 when 2020 season starts. We paid 6 for May/KK, and May was 27 round 1, 2019. Different type of players, I know

Would have to be disguised (eg. Stretch for 5th rounder) as what you suggest could be described as draft tampering. AFL wants trades to be balanced (unless of course, it involves GCS or GWS, so maybe forget what I'm trying to say...)

Any info on Charlie Constable from Geelong? Has been injured and not give much of a chance. I loved the look of him in his draft year. 20 yo tall midfielder, can float back or forward. 1st game got 21 disp, second game against us got 31 disp -

It will be very interesting to see if the operations to fix the calf nerve issues make him slower. Speed and delivery were his main strengths IMO. Super talent if fit... If I'd offer 1 year base with incentives for 2. Keen to see which other clubs are interested and what they might offer. -

Melbourne List needs 1. Outside speed 2. Rebounding defender 3. General forward Draft picks: 3, 22, 40, 58, 76 Who should they target? Melbourne's midfield is slow, so Ed Langdon would add significant outside run and speed, improving the balance of the team. With Trent McKenzie unable to establish himself for Port Adelaide, his penetrating kick would be a welcome addition to defence well and add a much-needed punch if available. Considering Gold Coast received a priority pick, Melbourne will likely add Caleb Serong to improve their front half. -

Sure you aren't confusing him with Jesse Hogan?!! -

If I was Bennell and was serious about resurrecting my career, I'd push to get to a club with proven player welfare management and best practice injury rehab. Hawks or Tigers. -
Frost to Hawks for 30. 30 to Freo for Langdon. We keep 22. However, Langdon is worth more than 30
-
Frost for $cully. Simples!

Can clubs swap preseason draft picks? I thought it was only the national draft where this happened. Not sure though
-
How on earth would they get 2? Makes sense, Noah is the son of Dean Anderson, ex hawk I'd laugh if GCS traded with Hawks for pick 2, only to take Anderson with 1!

Absolutely. I posted similar on another thread a week or so back. High reward for relatively small risk. Still needs dd done before committing. I think he's be a perfect project for Clarko or Dimma. The big question I see is, does MFC have a strong enough player welfare program to guide and empower a player such as Bennell? Look at what Richmond have done - they are the benchmark. -

Yes, agree with that, assuming all available due diligence is done. Check his folds and see what hes up to on social media. At interview can they ask for a hair sample for surprise testing? Get him down to the club and see what he can do on the track.
