  1. You missed the point I was making Whilst we got short term return from Hogan and Jackson, and some picks in return, their long term absence has left a big hole in that end of the ground for us. Hence why we're now pinning our hopes on an injury prone key back who has played a handful of games forward, a scrawny, hunch-backed 19 yr old barely noticeable at VFL level, and an ex basketballer that Brisbane were prepared to trade for pick 47 We have arguably the best back line and midfield in the AFL, but a bottom 6 forward line. I think it cost us the flag last year, regardless of injury excuses
  2. It could be argued that both Hogan and Jackson were busts as key forwards, in that we couldn't keep them at the club. Whilst we did get decent picks in return for them, it has clearly left a vacuum in personnel and development in that area of our list. And before anyone claims Jackson is a ruck, he would've been a key forward and 2nd fiddle ruck to Max and currently is that to Darcy (when Darcy's not injured)
  3. As undeniably simplistic as Dermie's thinking is, he is right that we haven't had a gun key forward in many years and we haven't adequately developed the ones we drafted (Stafford) Tmac and BBB were only ever going to be short term bandaid. BBB's knee gave us one year in 21 and Tmac has fallen in a heap quickly after the grannie. Not convinced Jeffo is the answer, nor that JVR is more than a 3rd tall. Petty is terribly injury prone and is not the white knight many think he will be. And don't get me started on Hogan or Weid Would be interesting to find out what effort we've put into recruiting a pack crashing key forward in the last 5 years Though I am reminded by an ex Land poster who claimed a couple of years ago that Tex Walker to the Dees was a done deal, lol!
  4. Man alive, there's some crazy thinkers on Land after a loss! Imagine what it's gonna be like when we're 3/3 after 6! 🥳
  5. Petty is incredibly injury prone and Melksham will not be back until end of year. And as tallented as Pickett is, he goes missing regularly. That's been know for 6 months or more, yet here we are still dabbling with witches hats like Schache and Spargo. Goodwin is sooooooo predictable and stubborn in his methods, it's sickening.
  6. As bad as we played by 3/4 time, I thought we were lucky to still be in it and would run out the game on top. But alas... We simply cannot put teams away early when we have ample opportunity. Our forward line is non functional and I'm god damn sick of using absent players as an excuse. 2023 merging into 2024, only worse. The next month will be telling on Goodwin's ability to regroup a team in a hot mess. Did we re-sign him too readily?
  7. Harrison Petty please, please, please get well soon!!!
  8. Viney = immense Picking up from where he left off last year
  9. Now there's a duet ready to cut loose 15 beers into the wind! Hope the bar you are in has decent security! 🤣
  10. Exactly. There's a s*** load of parks and open spaces in the burb. It gets on my 🐐 that these attention seeking lightweight pollies can feign outrage about an issue without facts or a grip on the balanced bigger picture
  11. The Tassie Pinots Derrr, isn't it obvious?
  12. I truly hope Maynard wears this as a millstone around his neck for the remainder of his life
  13. One might ask why he's hanging around you then, picket!!!
  14. Don't forget to bring a passport and make sure your shots are up to date 😉
  15. Ed Langdon anyone?!! Jesse Hogan for pick 6 (which we used to get Steven May) was a great success for them too!
  16. Petty, JVR, Bowey, Rivers and McVee are in our A list team. Maybe Sparrow and McAdam too. Remove them from that line up and replace with lesser Casey players, and imo, yes, they will struggle to win many games Each to their own view!
  17. Seriously? Imo would struggle to beat any VFL side
