  1. Yes, but 2 could be used to poach an experienced A grade player
  2. Jeezus! Wish my dad offered me $70k to not take a job. WTF didn't he give the money anyway? Is parental love conditional? Strange cat.
  3. Watts and Motlop will hardly prove to be the edge Port need. Contested footy is god these days.
  4. That I'm quoting you is 3rd hand Earl. I am glad the playing group now knows the standards expected, despite Jacks dad's protestations
  5. You don't think every club already knew every detail of what Jack was worth? Beggers belief that some don't realise this. 31 is exactly what he's worth. It's a gamble for PA to see if he'll improve with a change of scenery. Some do, others don't. I highly doubt Jack would've improved with us regardless of who said what to the press. He had reached his cap. Onwards and upwards...
  6. With all due respect Earl, it's now 3rd hand from an anonymous internet forum. Hardly an accurate chain of information you must agree
  7. I'd rather look at it as a learning lesson for the list to know what's expected of them. If Jack's a player that other high draft pick youngsters look up to, then the jettison is worthwhile. HTFU! The moral is NO MORE HIGHLY PAID PASSENGERS WHO DO NOT PREPARE OR PERFORM TO EXPECTATIONS
  8. Looks like he he enjoyed his 'recreational' time in Byron Bay, lol!
  9. I see both sides. I am not against Jack staying, I do not believe that his position at the club is untenable. I think Tmac and Hogan as kpfs will suit Jack's game. He struggles when playing as a kf or in the ruck. If we trade him for a pick between 20-30 I am confident Taylor can find a good young player in that range, or alternatively a swap of second rounders for a higher pick may eventuate.
  10. Do you know how many votes he polled this year? (hint: more than 0 and less than 2). Can you please tell me when the last key back or key forward won the Charlie? A dominating player should almost never be taken out of position, except in the event of injury eg. Danger this year, or when 15 goals down, as Neita was, to stem flood of goals.
  11. Folks, I'm going out on a limb here, but I think there's a lot we can learn from our cousins in the football fold (albeit the round ball version). They know how to look after an injured player with speed and absolute care
  12. Col is heading down the coaching and development path. He's been doing considerable work with our women's team. Well respected. Wish him all the best.
  13. I trust that Dev Smith was photographed in Essendon colours with a needle hanging out of his forearm. Otherwise he might look out of place on the team photoboard. Now that would truly be an oversight of epic proportions Update: being done as we speak
  14. Collingwood F/S eligible. Craig played 124 games for them.
  15. Except that Jack is a grown man, not a "kid", with considerable media training and experience, and has a manager to guide him in public statements. Andrew has none of these and IMO has been played by the media like a guitar. I have no problem with him supporting his son in private. Once Andrew opened his mouth to the media he stepped over the line. If Jack was 16 and working in Hungry Jack's it would be acceptable. Not at 26 with 9 years in the AFL.
  16. I cringe when I hear parents publicly chime in at trade time about how they think their adult son has been treated. Of couse they are going to get emotional and stick up for their son. I wonder if Andrew Watts has talked to Mahoney or Goodwin about it. I know media saturation looks for every emotional detail, but Jack is an adult FFS, his parents should stay out of it and let the man deal with his own career. IMO this can't help Jack's cause. As has been said before, the club is bigger than any one individual.
  17. You are correct, apologies. But for an English teacher you cannot spell for [censored].
  18. Next time use punctuation correctly
  19. I like that a lot. However, I thought the AFL put a stop to clubs stockpiling late selection points for academy draftees by trading higher picks. Didn't we do something like that while roos was in charge with GWS? And other clubs did too iirc. Not sure though.
  20. Is it just me or does it look like the Motlop compo is set up to help get GAJ back to the [censored]'s den?
