Classic Ro Bail turnover.

Lucky for you pressing the space bar on your keyboard more times than needed wont give the fingers blisters. You've got enough of those from other websites you frequent.

Bare my rrrse in Bourke St. Won't happen.

I find it very difficult to respect the opinion of a 'man' claiming to be above my level when he cannot even use the space bar on his keyboard at the appropriate moment. Two finger typing must be tough at the top, or even left hand typing when that is the only one not currently occupied elsewhere.

One of the things that would make Max Gawn (and Fitzy and Max King for that matter) more effective is if he could use his big body to impose upon marking contests and ruck contests. Not sure if he needs more muscle or core strength or what it is, but he's certainly tall enough. I get very frustrated watching a 7'8" MFC player getting bounced around by guys considerably shorter than him. Once he puts those big mits up for a mark he should almost be immovable. Sandi and Big Cox were like that at their best.

Looks like he might have swallowed it as well. Been in a good paddock that bloke. -
Lucky we are not subject to AFL rules here! (Not that there's anything wrong with the rules here..... )

Agreed. Sydney wouldn't have the need to play Stretch in his first year, maybe not for two years, he'd be developing nicely in the 2's. At Sydney, Gus Brayshaw probably wouldn't get a game until later in his first year. That Vanders was under their nose and they didn't take him speaks volumes for the quality of their depth. Mitchell is only now about to become a regular, he'd arguably be in our top 3 mids. Helps if you have an extra $mill in your cap, but that's not the only reason. Would love two of Sheil, Treloar and Prestia at the Dees. Can't see it happening, but Roos has shown he can do some great recruiting.

Saw Max King walking from Fed Sqr to the G on Saturday night to watch the game. I know he's still young, but my god he's a beanpole, he struggled to stay upright in the wind on the pedestrian bridge. I reckon I could have manhandled him to the ground with ease, and I'm neither young nor in great knick. Hope he beefs up and learns how to use it over the next couple of years, because we are crying out for a good ruck option.

AFL website now has Lake as a chance to play alongside Frawley on the weekend. Yikes!

Did the Bentley get beaten by limp asparagus Earl? Hopefully they didn't throw potatoes

Pass around whatever it is you are on Picket, don't be greedy.

I thought Pedo was reasonable for his first game back. Would like to see him stay, particularly if Dawes come up. At least Pedo can clunk a mark, something that Dawes and Spencil struggle to do, and he is a better ruck option than Dawes. Given Viney and Jetta are not right yet, we may not make many changes, if any. Maybe Stretch to sub and Watts as a wing/high HF. Interested to see how Tyson's knee has pulled up.

Why can't we find a ruckman who is athletic, strong and can clunk 4-5 big marks each match? Wayne Carey mention the lack of strong marking, high possession rucks on Talking Footy last night. Most average only 2-3 marks per game, which for the tallest players on the ground, sounds pretty lame to me. They've got to be able to do more than tap the ball (in our case ineffectively). Oh, for another Jim Stynes who could get 25 disposals regularly, ruck well, run all day and take 6-8 marks!

Sometimes an asparagus is just an asparagus dc.

There was also a number of alleged personal reasons for Stef Martin leaving, which some have mentioned here in the past, that meant a change of scene was both inevitable and good for him. The year that Jamar was injured for much of the season and Stef was our no1 ruck should've shown the club the kid can play very well. Another MFC stuff up.

Have The Hawks become flat track bullies that wilt under pressure?
Moonshadow replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
My original post was that the Hawks had a tough draw in 2014 and their depth helped them towards their flag. I don't see there is any luck in that. Their champions being available for the GF is far more good management, planning and conditioning than pure luck (whatever that may be). Of course, they could be injured at any time, if you want to call that luck, but they weren't on GF day, that was their intention all along and they achieved it. In many ways it was a near faultless year for the Hawks, not a lucky year. Anyway, this is somewhat aside from the thread topic, so I'll move on.- 122 replies

Depth helped the Hawks get to the GF. They toughed out a year of significant injuries and arguably the hardest draw of any club. Has to be admired. They didn't win the flag because of any luck at all rjay.- 122 replies

The hawks had plenty of injuries last year with a tough draw as well. They have very good depth- 122 replies

ATM a team with a good, fast midfield can possibly match them. Unfortunately that's not us.- 122 replies
