Can we play bingo from this thread with these 8 points? http://m.dailylife.com.au/news-and-views/dl-opinion/eight-things-racists-say-to-try-and-convince-people-theyre-not-being-racist-20150731-giohbl.html

Delistings/trades at end of the season

That's scarey -
Did that work for Hird od?

Have them write 10,000 lines The game is not about me The game is not about me The game is not about me The game is not about me The game is not about me.....

No. Our season is shot. Sorry, can't do it.

Except Aly is of a minority and has some credibility and experience in racism. Whereas Bolt has verified experience as a racist.

Nothing like an ignorant generalisation and rediculous analogy to add nothing to the topic ucanchoose

Prestia's is a ball of muscle. He may be 175cm tall but he has fantastic speed, skill, polish and awareness. Would be close to our no 1 mid if he came to us. Come home son, all is forgiven!

Last line made me spit my coffee out in laughter Biff. Very good.

Goodes is the highest profile, most successful indigenous player in the AFL (perhaps in all Aust sports) Loads of players have staged for frees or slid into players within the rules at the time. See previous posts. Are they all booed incessantly? Brad Green was a classic stager. He pointed out a spectator yelling racist remarks to him to security, as he rightly should have. That she was questioned by the police or allegedly "made the face of racism nationally" says more about the police, media and the AFL than Goodes. He accepted her apology and asked that the issue move on at a presser shortly after. He was made AOTY. Big deal, hardly worth booing about. Was his speech divisive? Goodes is outspoken on indigenous issues because he is a high profile Indigenous Australian. Probably more accurate than divisive. The "spear throwing war dance"... He didn't actually throw a spear. If people are threatened or scared by that, they need to get out more. Note that numerous players have done it since, including Lumumba. The Haka is still ok, right? Interesting to read Waleed Ally write on the matter. He said something to the effect of Australians on the whole being very tolerant until minorities speak out and talk of injustice, then they are effectively told to shut up and get back in their place.

No. Wasn't seen in the mix. Roos liked Salem, wanted a deal to get a player and pick before 10 for Salem. Much more likely to have gone for Kelly if that didn't eventuate -
No. It's not the same, and if you can't figure out why it's probably not worth the effort to explain it to you

"...re signed because he thinks they will win a premiership in the next three years" Perhaps he's revisited that thought and lol'ed, not that we are any closer.
-
Every club had multiple players who did that because it was within the rules at the time. Any player would have done it if it mean taking an opponent to ground whilst getting the ball for a clearance. Most back lines made an art of it to stop forward momentum. Yet no other player gets booed as much, as loudly, for as long as Goodes has. He's won two brownlows and multiple Bob Skilton medals for being Best & Fairest. If a supporter doesn't like Goodes, at least they should have some valid reason to boo disproportionately, because the excuses are quickly becoming paper thin.
-
Or Tyson or Vanders.
-
Smokescreen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he's recieved a grand total of 11 frees this year.
-
Would you over proportionately boo every single player you did not like? I'd spend the who game booing and not paying any attention to the match if that was the case. Not saying all people who boo Goodes incessantly are racists, but there are racial undertones to many, and most of the rest IMO are ignorant sheep. Fancy making a point of booing such an absolute champion of the game!

Crazy stuff! I might too.

What is your favourite TV/Radio commentary team?

FMD I'd rather attack my nut bag with a garlic crusher and battery acid than listen to Eddie call a game. He is horrific! -

Warnie's social banter is appalling as well. Sending out happy birthdays, living off acquaintances. Next he'll be saying hello to his Tinder brigade. -
Just bloody drink the bottle of single malt FFS!
-
In a draft that's widely recognised as weak, our first pick and a player such as Howe would be more likely IMO, if it happens at all. Can't see it happening, but stranger things have happened

Knee situation? Alarm bells? Anyone with info?

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Moonshadow replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
You're correct of course Boss, $600k might or might not be what the offer is, and we'll never know exactly. However due to the ever increasing SC, there must be a number of average AFL footballers earning around that mark, which was part of the point I was making -
Does that include Victoria as well? I'd think reducing the Vic teams is the obvious starting point. Competently managed growth in NSW and Qld should also be the focus. Neither of those will happen though.
