Hyperbole to suggest forfeiting the points. It was not an away game, that's the point. Sure we must learn to play all AFL grounds, no one is denying that, but it's better to play our home games at our home ground. More likely to win the 4 points there, though judging by today still unlikely.

Dawes is sucking the life out of our salary cap. Most pundits estimates are between $500-600k pa. Where has his bang for buck been at MFC? Sure, we got to pay someone, and he's been injured, blah, blah, blah. Is he OOC at the end of this year? That money can be used to throw at a bigger, less fragile fish. Dawes will either not be at MFC next year or be on a hugely decreased contract. Does he offer something going forward? Sure, but no one is holding their breath. Rather look elsewhere.

Playing our home game at Etihad is what many are questioning. We should learn to play our home games at our home ground, especially given it was vacant this afternoon.

Outside spread and linkage as well Tone.

Must've missed the bit about it being our home game....

Etihad: The half flush toilet pan of the AFL competition.
-
Also Lumumba spent a lot of time pointing to him whilst standing 30m away on his own.

Wish I was in a corporate box at Etihad with canapés and a day bed. Might have made the loss more bearable, if I had noticed at all. Such is life, as Ben Cousins so beautifully put it.

Injuries maybe Harmes (cork) and Salem (concussion). Others to consider omitting would be Frost and Dunn. GCS have a strong forward line. Dunny is very slow and undersized for KPD
-
Dawes and Frost are not part of the next step forward ATM. Dawes cannot get fit, Frost cannot show value. Will Hulett get a run?
-
I think you'll find Frost has a hold on that spot. Worse than useless today. #Frostfacts

Agreed. Only 27k turned up, took far too long to get in (unless you were in a private box), in the event of an emergency evacuation the crowd would be fked. Docklands management work on the 'head in the sand' principle.

Petracca was fine. There are about 21 guys that should take a good hard look in the mirror before him, particularly in the backline. Does Rievoldt have the plague? WTF was Jetta and Hunt directly (though very loosely) on him for much of the game? Makes no sense. Put TMac on him all game. Play the shut down role. Pretty simple really. He kills us every time and we learn jack sht every time.
-
Backline lacked accountability. Lots of finger pointing. Zone defence is bull sht when opponents have control and run the show. We lack a KPD. Dunn is done, massive brain fades, plays the percentages for himself. Throw big money at Hurley.
-
The backline were [censored] paid to not give any attention to their opponents. Let's allow them to run around unaccountable and kick goals at will. What a disgrace.
-
Frost has gone ice cold. Every time he went near the ball I kept thinking of Benny Hill music.

Thank you for the teacher's correction.

Lube me up for old times sake

I'll have 4 please, concurrently.

Thank god for Jogan: Jones and Hogan.

Frost must be dropped. #Frostfacts

Way too early to tell if they will dive into the depths we did. I suspect they'll start winning a few games, gradually get good players back in and then finish around the middle. A few good trades over October (dare I say the name Hogan...) and they may well jump up next year. They are certainly better resourced than we were and being an interstate club the AFL would never let them drop down for too long.

Don't know if the failed psych test is true, but people develop towards adulthood in differing ways. Petracca is certainly maturing into a thoughtful and compassionate young man, good on him..... (but I still want him to be ruthless and super competitive on the footy field)

Stringer had a shocker, matched only by the umpiring.

Could it be that the interchange cap has exhausted the players so much that skill levels have dropped?
