Too funny. Actually, it was a grammar mistake and not a spelling mistake. He spelt the word correctly, but used the incorrect word. 'Then' relates to time, whereas 'than' is used in a comparative situation.

I had us winning 10-11 games this year which would show continued improvement. That still appears about right, even though it's early days. Would that put us about 11th? If we won 13 I'd be wrapped, but think it highly unlikely.
