There's only one Taylor on the ground. He always get identified as Harry Taylor. Why? Green always get called Toby Green. Has been for years. At least there's now some excuse for it ... another Green (debutante) playing for GWS tonight. Still a boring match.

Such a boring match. There is only one player on the ground with the surname Shaw. Why do the commentators always refer to him as Heath Shaw? (They don't use the other players Christian names.)

Recognisable is one thing ... but it has to be an effective game style. The 2019 game style was very recognisable... 1. All hard at the ball, no one on the outside to get the handball, and spillages from packs easy pickings for the opposition. 2. Bombs inside 50, particularly when outnumbered. 3. Handball to team mates under pressure - see #1. 4. Kick to opposition players. 5. Don't spread. 6. Don't switch. 7. Kick points (rather than goals) wherever possible. OK, so I'm jaded !!!!

For years Jee-long fans complained how hopeless Hawkins was. Eventually he came good. We can only hope that Weiderman follows the same path.

I was at the Footscray game in the last round + the 3 finals. Even if we had won the Prelim we would have been thumped by Carlton the following week (GF).
