  1. If we were playing anyone at the "G" I would be an attendee. Will not be at Etihad
  2. Essendon Football Club are serious dropkicks
  3. Fortunately the players are in safe hands and being soundly advise. Pendelbury is quoted in The Age today as saying "We listen to Marshy, we take his advise. If he comes to this football club and he said, 'Scott' in order to get this deal moving, we need you to sit out the first quarter" Marsh was, as best I recall, 'extraordinary' in his assistance and advice to all those under his jurisdiction as CEO of the Players Association, most particularly those who had never played for Essendon. The Age quite properly appeared to equate the suggested strike with the behaviour of the statesmanlike Anthony Mundine and his decision to sit down during the National Anthem.
  4. Who is the fourth over 30 on the list? Certainly Vince, Lumumba and Lewis all qualify. It seems to me the next oldest is Pedersen who doesnt turn 30 until next year.
  5. At least there is apparently a bye after the round 10 game against the Suns in Alice.
  6. At least now I can concentrate on my work without having to look at the Hogan contract thread 25 times a day
  7. 3 - word - player - Favourite weekly thread - Generally pretty right - Dont always agree - Hard on Tyson - Hard on Stretch - Thanks very much
  8. Which one or two did we play three times? Or did we play St Kilda four times?
  9. Game not showing in any bar at Athens airport. Demonland is therefore excellent reading
  10. I just wish the football department would hurry up and sign both brothers for at least 4 years so this thread could be closed
  11. Just about to board plane in Dubai. Unless my IT skills have improved it is likely I will find result in 9 hours. Hope I can spend happy hour watching Sunset reading happy Demonlanders
  12. I went to a church school and was regularly beaten
  13. If the league average is around $350,000, would you give him less?
  14. For those who say things havent changed since 2010 - The Queens Birthday team of 2010 was: Bartram Warnock Frawley Jones Rivers Grimes Bruce Trengove Scully Jetta Bate Dunn Green Miller Davey Jamar Moloney McKenzie Garland Morton Gysbert Watts Emer: Bennell Paul Johnson Cheney Sylvia must have been injured. Of the seven players still on the list who could teach the young players the right attitudes, only Jones, Jetta and Watts are certainties to be selected on Monday with Trengove almost certainly so. If Viney plays on Monday, a possible team is: Jetta T McDonald Frost Hunt O McDonald Wagner Stretch Tyson Vince Watts Dawes Petracca Garlett Hogan Kent Gawn Jones Viney Oliver Trengove Kennedy Bugg Injured and others include: Salem, H, Brayshaw, Dunn, Garland, ANB, M Jones, Grimes, Vandenberg, The teams that have risen quickly have often a solid senior base. I am not posting to cast any aspersions on an earlier regime, but I know which team I would rather follow into the next six years!!!!!!!! Even if it is a bit younger and less experienced,
  15. Immediately after the report, Smith brushed the umpire aside to goad Vince. I thought umpire contact was not permitted. It is especially unecessary in this incident.
  16. I hope he plays at least another 19 games. There are some spectacular genes in the boy
  17. You are absolutely correct. A smaller player should never outmark a larger player. I also noticed Hogan being outmarked on occasions by a smaller player. Obviously "He just doesn't seem to be able to read the play. Too weak. Has no urgency in his play. Is slow. Slow decision maker. Bad decision maker also"????????????? as "Age" would have us accept. With the greatest of respect to the McDonald hating scribes, I would suggest you watch the Bears and this game with an open mind, try and consider what the coaches are trying to do and pay some attention to how the players upfield have allowed the ball to be turned over and run easily into defense leaving defenders outnumbered. Sadly, I think Oscar and his brother are receiving excessive criticism for perceived errors actually caused by a failing by a player or players upfield.
  18. Not only three goals, but four kicks were to Hogan marks. Too many others seemed to kick to an undersized Garlett in a competition. Watts and Hogan have had an excellent understanding and while Hogan marked really well, the Watts kicks were to his advantage. There will be room for a Hogan, Watts, Weideman forward line in the future.
  19. Only a year ago I predicted the greatest service Max Gawn would provide to the MFC was to puke on Scully. Suffering serious injuries, couldn't jump, couldn't kick and seemed too much the buffoon to become even a reasonable footballer. Now my favourite replay is Geelong last year. And he has come on in leaps and bounds since then. His ruck work is a joy to watch, particularly as he has a 360 degree palming circle. The taps to Jones and Viney in the third quarter on Saturday when each kicked a goal were magnificent. The only time I can recall the Dees having such clear ball from the ruck was for a limited time with Jamar/Maloney. Once it was worked out that most of the Jamar taps went to the one place, this lost some of its magic. I cannot remember such a spectacular rise from a player who has been on a list for as long as he has. He has also given the team great press and one would think his persona will encourage a number of kids to follow us, and if we are going to be strong in the future, we need as many Melbourne jumpers at Auskick as possible.
  20. Will enable him to provide another father/son Very forward thinking by the Club
  21. Would that encompass father/son and grandfather/son?
  22. Fkn concur EFC has one chance to stand up to the AFL Gill - you either backdate these bans so players miss no games & walk away from WADA code or we boycott the season Can't let us do that eh - well maybe our boys who didn't get banned might protest on the ground - how would that make your precious Fkn AFL comp look then eh
  23. For the MFC this decision means both Michie and White are likely to be able to be upgraded (one can be upgraded at the start of the season automatically). I note in his "list update" Roos made reference to Michie being in a position to make the round 1 team. Making Michie a rookie seems to me to be part of whatever back-up plan the administration had. If they don't have to pay Melksham this year but have him available for pre-season next year (and thereafter) and two ready made players to come up, the risk was worth the potential loss.
  24. These are in a row from Bomberblitz. Moderate and mild compared to some AFL needs to step in here and ditch the WADA code. It's a farce. They had to lower the standards of proof, alter the code and find a panel of compliant stooges to pull this off. It is more about showing all sports players that you should 'take the deal' when offered whether you are innocent or not. Hey Mr Little I think you're job isn't done yet Call Gill & tell him we're sitting this season out & how's that gonna affect his bottom line It's the way corruption works. The IOC were corrupt. They created a corrupt body WADA to do their dirty work. and a corrupt commission CAS to ratify that corruption. They're no different to FIFA. This decision will be seen for what it is one day. And I wouldn't want to be a judge who put his name to it. Won't look good on the CV. And an alternative view. There are a few really sad... but no blaming anyone but the people involved with the suppliment progrram. thanks hird for destorying the club. i cant belive i also had an infant bomber jumper that is due to arrival in the mail today.
