I always felt that Gutnik and Brian Dixon never received the appropriate gratitude of the club or fans for being the faces that opposed the merger. Were it not for them, there would have been no club at all when the Hawks voted against the merge as there would have been no spirit to continue. Both were eventually shafted by the club for good or bad reasons but that is another story. And as you may guess, I was one of those who was vehemently opposed to the merger. I was also one of those who did not fit into Dallas Brooks Hall to my great anger.

Henry Coles could play a bit. He must be close to the bravest footballer in the world. About his last game he apparently had a punch up with Carl Ditterich in the changing rooms. He was pretty feisty on the field but one would think lucky to survive a stand up with Carl

After such a perfect preseason, I am desperate to have some yardstick. If they manage four rounds, that will possibly partly satisfy me and while i am doing nothing due to the pandemic, will give me four successful replays to keep watching. Just been waiting for my coffee in Horsham and fell into conversation with the happy indigenous gent beside me in a MFC tee shirt. He turned out to be the very proud father of Kysaiah having a pit stop on the way back to SA. He wasn’t afraid to talk the boy up. Said he has a fantastic attitude. anyway I left him talking to Frank Giampolo (ex MFC footballer). Really looking forward to seeing this kid play

The fact there were so many easy shots at on the night goal suggests that the ball was being used and delivered into the 50 reasonably well. The simple fact is that too many were missed
