I guess my point is that Buckley made it clear he didnt want to play for the Bears - hence the out clause in his contract and Bears thought they could turn him. -

How can you say that - nothing like same except both were young players that left their original clubs ? Buckley made it clear where he wanted to go before he was drafted by the bears and it was common knowledge that he had an out clause in his contract - he was upfront that he wanted to get to Collingwood. Buckley was all about going to Collingwood - Scully is all about money. Shades of Buckley would have Scully at Richmond. -

Could go that way too - but i did put in the disclaimer of putting a positive spin on it. -

Wow ! - I have searched back for any indication you knew this at the time ? Actually I searched back to see if anyone knew this at the time. I searched back for anyone who thought for at least 6 months leading up to draft time that we Scully wouldnt go number one. I have searched back to find anything other than Scully was a dedicated and focused footballer but geez I have missed that too. "maybe the club thought they could turn him around" - assuming again that they knew . Wow - plain wow.I am as bitter and twisted about it as you are but geez - hindsight the size of Serena Williams. ( can i have the tattslotto numbers for Saturday night please) -

I put a positive spin on the two compo picks - I had the best looking girl in town one on one - she went alright but her heart wasnt in it but now i get to have threesome with two birds who are not too shabby at all. ( I apologise for this post in advance) -

I agree the whole situation stinks to high heaven and the only proof positive is Scully Junior has little to no integrity based on his on record comments vs on record actions but again your line above is patent nonsense. The father getting a job is more pork barrelling but lends no credence or gives no indication that this part of the deal was sorted long ago. The AFL's action of including Big Phil's salary in the TTP certainly indicates that the job for Dad was part of the whole Scully package but using phrases like "lends credence" is disingenuous. Go with this line instead " With the Scully's obvious love of the dollar and his actions flying in the face of his press conference statements, with his integrity in tatters, it would come as no surprise to learn that Phil's job is another piece of puzzle that was put to bed months and months ago" -

You misread and are misquoting me - There is plenty to suggest that this was all put to bed well before the "party line" timeline - I will ask you again - how does the announcement of PS's job with GWS and the placing PS's salary into GWS TTP tell you that the deal was done months ago in any way shape or form ? it indicates that the offer to Tom was more than salary to tom - this is another inducement to move - thats it For the record again - I heard what he said at his March press conference regarding how to resist the big money and how he wanted to be a one club player - he went back on what he said at the conference therefore zero intergrity in my eyes and may he burn in hell -
I like the thought but i believe the AFL's response to you will be "tell WYL he's dreamin' .. "

Happy to dislike the Scully's with a passion - but I still like a certain amount of logic to arguments - the inclusion of Big Phil in the cap absolutely indicates that the AFL consider his job as part of the inducement to get Tom to GWS but care to explain how this indicates the timing of the approach ? You can believe that it happened yonks ago and there is good arguments to say it did but the inclusion of the wage in the TTP indicates zero about the timing - this aint the smoking gun. -

I put his introvertness down to shyness rather than unenthuisiasm. It will be easily proven next season by how he acts and reacts on and off the field - if he turns into a Beamer then your are 100% right -

Dont see what the hooha is Scully seniors appointment is not seen as arms length to the Scully junior appointment so his salary is part of the TPP. End of story. ( The Judd payment from Visy is what has me going "wtf ?") For those who are questioning how he interviewed. Have a look at how he answered questions at his press interview in March. I have repeated ad nauseum that I have no idea when he signed, when he decided etc etc but my dislike for the man is based on two responses 1/ how do you resist the big money offered - see exactly how he answered that 2/ I want to be a one club player and envisage that will be the case There is no stepping back from the comments he made in that press conference. I took his comments at face value and his actions flew in the face of his comments. Therefore the dislike. As I said previously - if you look at Ablett Junior last year - he said nothing the whole year. he did not do the press conference - he did not make any statements. Tom did and then stepped back from his comments. A man of very low integrity. ( had he said nothing and taken the bucks then no problem - I hold him to his press conference statements and condemn him). I have semi moved on. I think about who is at the club yet still bear a grudge. -
I've got two ex wives and Scully - I dont want any of them back.

I like Robbo - as opposed to other journo's I always feel that he is trying to convince himself that what he is saying is important and relevant as much as he is to the listener /reader. Solid as a blamange

Congrats Brad ( good thing I had amenesia for 2011 and remember 2010 so fondly)

Yup - agree with all you say and i am guilty as charged to reading into "fled the scene" without knowledge of what he actually did and didnt do. I have been scathing of press reporting and its footloose handling of facts and its spin, bias and taint and I too may have been sucked in by what i have read. I will hold my fire until all is ( or isnt ) revealed.

Lets dismiss everything except for what we do know. He wasnt driving the car that was involved in an accident and both the driver and Sylvia left the scene. No law broken by Col but prima facie evidence of him being a goose. One must suspect if everything was kosher except the bad luck of having an accident he wouldnt have felt compelled to leave the scene. So a quick straw poll ( and there will be a follow up question for all those who answer yes !) - Who has been involved in the sort of accident that has caused major damage ( like a power pole being knocked out) and has had both the passenger and the driver leave the scene ?

And I am a fan of all of the above except the judgemental behaviour of others. I would hope that each of the footballers judge themselves against the highest of high standards so it is not necessary for them to be judged poorly by others. You hear of the single minded obsessive approach it takes to win a premiership. We could do with a bit more of that. I have no problem with any footballers getting on the turps and being "party boys" . But if that is what they want then go and play in a district league and not take $400K a year to play at the highest level. You are paid the big bucks to be in the "elite" competition, then act like the "elite". I dont see it as role model problem. I see it as the behavioural price you have to pay for salary you receive to play football. Acting professionally both from a physical and behavioral standpoint is part of the job spec.

But unlike other spin that flys around AFL circle I dont give a rats about "forging relationships with the NT" or " giving to the community of NT" - it is about the moolah and nothing but the moolah, so help me god.
-
Thats where i sit - we are not financially where other clubs are. We need to be to compete. I do not want to play in NT as it is definitely draining to play in that humidity - we dont need that. I believe we do need the money. The minute we dont then its goodbye NT
