  1. A stress reaction is the 292 posts on here
  2. Not weird Just lazy
  3. There is an approval process for all publications of size with multiple contributors - its the editor. By you saying the "official AFL website" would have an approval process you can see that you are insinuating that the approval of material is by the AFL. The answer is - no it isn't.
  4. correct. And... Frawley has not delayed to "seasons end". He is waiting to see how the season unfolds. My feeling is that if he can see upwards momentum he will sign. I dont think this is all about money.
  5. This... Teams can make a go of it with an average forward line but a good functioning midfield. Teams with a decent forward line and no midfield will struggle.
  6. For the record - Yes - the "official AFL website" has editorial freedom from the AFL and does not need or get approval. If you go back to the Voldermort thread ( Scully ) I took exception with an opinion piece on AFL.com from Jason Phelan and contacted the editor Geoff Slattery. I suggested that I would like to respond but it would be very uncomplimentary of Andrew D and I said they wouldn't publish. Not only did they publish but Slattery also went on the front foot on AFL.com and spoke about their independence and would publish without fear or favour as long as it was not offensive and it is not entirely fabricated. So I would suggest that AFL.com would purely accept DB's "credentials" and just publish.
  7. SOP for all clubs - journo's always get a sniff and unlike the clubs who wait to get the full medico advice before publishing, the journo's will quickly report 10% fact and basically make up the rest. You see it for every club - how many times have I read in the papers journo's quickly report that "this player" has suspected "that injury" and is out for 6,10,12 or "potentially season/career ending" only to have the club report 2 days later that the player will be out for a couple of weeks.
  8. Its interesting that one of the biggest potential beneficiaries of the delisting wants nothing to do with the forests "One of the state's biggest native forest producers Ta Ann has made it clear that it does not want wood from the contentious forests. Executive director Evan Rolley says the company's customers only want wood from areas endorsed by the peace deal."
  9. Its very early days for him but his style reminds me of Bartel ( minus Bartel being a supurb mark for his size). There is just this understated efficiency with the way Tyson goes about it. I think he is going to be a beauty.
  10. I think you have stated the obvious. So far the attributes you have mentioned have been lacking and they are not two big flaws. They are two huggggge flaws. They are the flaws in the same dimension as the only thing holding back Nicholson is a bit of disposal and decision making. As i have said previously - everyone this year comes with a clean slate. Improve or perish - no excuses.
  11. Guilty. He is both dumb and inarticulate but why I have a soft spot for him is I don't see his ego/sense of self importance completely out of control as opposed to the likes of Denham and Barrett who both seem to think that the world waits impatiently for their every utterance. I have also seen Robbo say famous words that I can't recall any other journalist having ever spoken " yeah.. I got that one wrong".
  12. You are aware of the slight difference in access by public transport to the G as compared to Casey ? You are are of the slight difference in car parking options and the way traffic disperses from the G as opposed to Casey ? You are aware of the excellent viewing facilities at the G as compared to Casey ? No-one moans about travelling to the G because it is the premier sporting stadium in Australia - with great viewing and easy access....as opposed to Casey.
  13. Tha's why Hawks, Geelong and Swans are so ahead of the rest. They hit targets. You run hard and spread and turn the ball over - you are dead meat.
  14. I'm not negative. He has played a handful of senior games where he has been OK. His praccy form against the tigers was good. Bottom line for him is that this is his year where he steps up and becomes a regular. If he continues in the same form and injury record of his previous seasons there wont be another season to follow. There are a few in that boat.
  15. I three quarters agree- I have no idea after almost 6 seasons if he is good bad or average and that's the problem for me. So he gets fit and gets on ground to prove what others see in him or I reckon he is gone. This injury IF it is longer term doesnt help his cause.
  16. I think he is one that has this year only to prove himself. Whether there have been glimpses or not - if he doesn't get on the paddock and fit and prove himself he wont get another contract.
  17. Sylvia had the chance to stay under Roos. I think you are overthinking it. Both Rivers and Roos left to play with teams participating in the finals now as opposed to the possibility in a number years time under a Roos regime.
  18. Not wanting to derail the thread ( but I am going to anyway). I have shifted my position on players and their relationship with coaches from what I firmly believed "Should be" to the reality of "what is". I have always been firm on the opinion that players are highly paid professionals and this idea of "playing for the coach" is a nonsense. As a highly paid professionals these footballers should take pride in performance every week and not spit the dummy because they dont like the coach, his methods, his attitudes, the position he plays them etc etc. Players shouldn't need to think about buying in. It is what they are paid to do I now have shifted my opinion to "reality". The above opinion whilst logical is not reality - many of these footballers have fragile ego's and inflated self importance. They require stroking and stick in finely balanced measure. The reality is that players make choices about buying in. I believe this was the major undoing of Neeld. Upset the playing group and no-one bought in. From what I can see of the Swans playing group under Roos and the early stages of our group is the players truly like him and will play for him.
  19. Revisionism at its best. I saw MN stand in the middle of the ground barking out instruction and encouragement during simulated matchplay exactly as PR is doing - well almost exactly . There is one major difference and the two clips of MN speaking highlight it. MN speaking was not inspiring, was not motivating and unfortunately not believable and the players just didn't buy in. MN was not engaging and the players did not engage. MN was a dismal failure as a coach but it was not because of the way he ran training sessions.
  20. My issue with CW is she is quite a clever writer in that she mixes a pinch of fact and mixes it with lashings of speculation, opinion and fantasy and represents the whole thing as fact. Having said that, I read her and mostly enjoy what she writes because I am aware of her embellishments. (edit - at least with CW she exudes some sort of intelligence - The likes of Denham and Barrett - come across as rank amateurs
  21. Any win makes me feel euphoric but even a Saturday win sets up Saturday night and Sunday soooo nicely
  22. You do understand the scheme don't you ? Give away hard earned is predicated on there being change and that change is winning !
  23. Seen way too many false dawns. I like the way the sun is coming up but I don't dare to dream. I want to the see the ball movement and hunger for the contest we showed against Richmond in the NAB cup
