  1. Why does that clown think his opinion is relevant to anything ?
  2. Problem is McLure muck rakes but doesn't say anything concrete so he cant be called out because he never confirms anything and has an easy way out, he is an award winning journalist who had his award rescinded
  3. Looks like your letter worked
  4. has he nominated which state he is homesick for yet?
  5. does anyone remember Lou Richards for his Recipe of the week on League Teams?
  6. Maybe the MFC should go the social media route with negotiating his exit and insist that he promotes the club in every post he does for the rest of his life.
  7. Max is a star of the game and a class act off the field. He will go down in the history of the oldest football club as one of its top 5 Legends of all time
  8. I think clubs like Collingwood have very strong connections with media powerbrokers (including people like Maguire) and therefore journalists are less inclined to throw as much dirt at the risk of their careers.
  9. he is homesick for WA or SA depending on which journalist opinion you choose.
  10. still tarnished by sandpaper gate 🤭
  11. Swipe at how rumours pass as news these days
  12. or was it something like? All this stuff in the media about Trac is weird? yep you don't hear weird stuff like this about other players at other clubs
  13. I received the following intel from a source close to the club but wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the matter If Fremantle’s Hayden Young does ask the Dockers for a trade, it’s understood he wants to play for Melbourne. The Demons are fully aware of Young's desire to join them in the event he chooses to leave Fremantle. pass it on... (AFL Journalism 2024)
  14. surprised she didn't start off with "a historic and proud day for the Melbourne Football Club"
  15. I hope that poster in Europe didn't stay up late to listen to that
  16. https://www.zerohanger.com/forever-red-and-blue-the-legacy-of-nathan-jones-afl-90703/ legacy > brand
  17. This is exactly how many journalists are operating now, link hearsay comments in a way that they know will misinterpreted. I have noticed this year many stories include the quoting of X sources who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the matter. This is carte blanche to say whatever they want to and attribute it to nobody in particular and therefore can't be called out for it. McClure is one of the worst at this and it's little wonder his journalism award was rescinded.
  18. a week ago Posted August 20 Well that settles it then. Melbourne has been assured by Kysaiah Pickett’s management that he is content at the Demons despite continual approaches from clubs across the country. Pickett signed a new deal last April until 2027 and while he has spent time in Adelaide and West Australia growing up he does not consider either of them his home town. Clubs including Port Adelaide have recently again upped the ante as they attempt to bring him back to the state where he lived with his uncle, Power legend Byron Pickett, for a time as he approached draft age. But his manager Peter Rohde confirmed on Tuesday he had spoken with Melbourne football boss Alan Richardson as recently as Tuesday morning to assure him there was nothing to the speculation. Pickett loves the city of Darwin and its tropical weather as an escape from the bitter cold of Melbourne’s winters. But unless the AFL fast-tracks a 20th team into the Northern Territory before he retires, he will remain with Melbourne for the foreseeable future. All Melbourne players have been disappointed with their response to a pair of straight-sets finals departures, flat they could not put together a deep finals run. But as the Demons prepare to take on Collingwood in their round 24 clash on Friday night, his focus is on fulfilling his contract. Ironically Pickett has just been spruiking the city in a fashion shoot for the City of Melbourne for splashed across his Instagram pages. He and partner Ardu welcomed their first child in April this year, with Pickett enjoying a solid but not brilliant season with 34 goals after 40, 41 and 37 majors in his past three seasons for the Demons.
  19. Max Gawn is naturally likable has charm and a sense of humour, doesn't need to push his brand to the same level. Jim Stynes saw that in him.
  20. he is pushing for an independent review of the club and I think a lot of people would agree but is this the best way to go about it?
  21. I have no real knowledge of Brandan Parfitt or whether he is any good or not but he is on the move and fits the age demographic for our needs https://www.zerohanger.com/out-of-favour-midfielder-reportedly-on-the-move-afl-trade-news-154543/
  22. Now that's a brand
  23. I feel dirty as I actually thought that was well written by Damo
  24. that's never stopped them before.
