Ok, just seemed to make sense, as the demon is a negative representation in there culture to replace it with a dragon. I am not suggesting we should be changing the demon but can understand thereason if we did in china.

I mix it up, quite liked the 09 scarf ect, the one that says MELBOURNE all along it

Didnt the Guernsey have a dragon on it though? why? http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/1XLtHyjcm1F/AFL+Shanghai+Showdown+Lions+v+Demons/kMxfczpQSRd/Mark+Jamar

Standard, provides an opportunity and many many players get drafted off opposition PTT lists.......not just about us in all honestly, us looking at them may get them taken at pick 40 or more Similarly i expect us to draft 2 or more players who are not on our PTT, possibly on someone elses or not at all on one...... its a big game.... People are pawns... and get given a look in

If we were Top 8 yes, any team will benefit 40-50+ goals a year from this guy. If he doesn't get drafted then ha ha In many top 8 teams he could be the difference *any day, We are not there at this stage . why we wont draft him. Proven Game winner for 60K per year.......hard to lose.

If he even wants to play football, might like soccer, would be nice if he can though -
Yeah great news on both fronts and as many suspected, the Chinese sponsor is gaining momentum!!

This is my understanding, we will or have asked, not clarification to my knowledge, would be great for him, Swallow did it for the GC so it better not be an expansion thing.... -

IMPORTANT QUESTION, Does Jack have a brother? and if not why the hell not!!!!! -
You say what we all already know and that is that Beamer is a great candidate, but he also has had his indiscretions, ie. being demoted from his VC position last year. This is the issue, Beamer has Leader written all over him, and luckily for him Neeld says the past is the past he and he will only worry about what he sees and hears now ect *clean sheets all round* The thing is the players know what he has done in the past, and you want your Captain to be 100% not 98% or anything less. BTW i think Moloney is the best candidate at this stage with Trengove in a succession plan * as VC for 2 years or so edit - Trengove is signed up so he has to wait 3 years before he even thinks about going anywhere
-
And we didnt give it to him and he slipped away.......oh well
-
thats it HT, i think Trengove could easily be VC aswell, but preseason is "Jones Time" He will make a good impression on the new coaching panel with his work ethic ect. Edit - and even though last season was awful.....Green is respect alot around the club, i get that vibe... People seem to right him off but he starts with a clean sheet atm
-
He is all class, i think put him VC this season, he has only played 37 games although he is nearly ready. Does that mean that Moloney is the only other choice for Captain though? who else would be ahead of Trengove?

Water Cooler chat...Neon Leon to the Dees on Tuesday
Jordie_tackles replied to StillWoewodin22's topic in Melbourne Demons
However much i doubt this, i believe Geelong paid Pods more than minimum in his second year, (as he obviously deserved it). I think. So i would assume Leon could do the same. -
Any tall which is regarded as particularly superior to the smalls/midfieders available. First preference is a midfielder but as long as they are considered the best choice. Edit - we obviously have the ruck division covered easily so that may be the one area i really wouldnt like us to go, but if you find a good one they will be worth something down the line....

Yeah your right, but i see him taking it more the way Bull did, having a big enough body to dish some back in reality. Viney is solid, he doesnt have a mans body quite yet but he doesnt have a kids either. also he will have 1.5 preseason under his belt in reality. -
You make a point, but imo especially Cook would be wasted if he is not given time, wasting a first round pick 2 years in, not many are expected to impact until they are 20-22 seriously, eg. Butcher playing 4 games in 2 years (yes he was injured) but so has Cook. I think its simply a matter of covering bases in terms of searching for the best talent, AND Neeld wanting player that can play now ie. Clark and Sellar, also Sellar seems to be getting groomed as a back even though he can play forward. Neeld doesnt want to play the waiting game that got Bailey fired.
-
Just because Martin, Sellar and Macdonald (i assume you mean Mcdonald?) doesnt mean they stay there, Cook will get 3 imo minimum 4-5 years to show what he is worth, unless we get a great offer being a good top 20 pick or more likely 15. IMO Cook is by far in forward terms a class or two above the 3 names mentioned above as being ahead of him. He has had one season and you dont pick first round KPP players to just trade them shortly after. Also a note that Strauss has been given guersey #19 now...wouldnt do that if he was on the block i would have thought personally. Also looking at this thread in terms of "who needs to have a BIG 2012" may be a better way of assessing guys. Players like: Blease, Strauss, Bennell, Jetta, Fitzpatrick, Evans and Nicholson (if they dont show something why make a spot available on the main list), Bate, Dunn, Pettered, Macdonald, Lawrence. All need to show that they add value to our list either as best 23 players or good 24-30 types players who can come straight in when needed. Otherwise any of them can be delisted imo Struass and Blease less so than the others but still need to show ability.
