  1. Got the coaches award for a third year staight under 2 coaches and came 4th or 5th in the Bluey pretty sure he is rated highly.
  2. Also I think this is very moot, he is not upset or sick of Adelaide just wants To Go Home, he will stay in Adelaide before nominating for the draft or being traded to any state other than QLD
  3. Would be hard to do as FS is before Trade period so it would need to be offered prior to FS bidding
  4. Yep i would think it is Stringer at 13 and Kennedy or Horvart at 23 if not Viney
  5. Burgoyne is not an inside mid, Jordie is a tagger more the like of Crowley, I see your point but don't write off Magner completely, he should have more scope than Jones, same age same draft one has less AFL experience, the professionalism of a second preseason will do him alot of good imo.
  6. Prismall is still an essendon player..... they signed him up good and long, geelong must be laughing
  7. I think the point still stands, that f we have money which we NEED to spend then so be it, yeah he may not be the best player in the league but if he will fit in out best 22 and he is in collingwoods best 22 and he is the best available then do it, for the right deal.
  8. It is only a comparison but lots of people thought Shaun Higgins was the next big thing 2 years ago, look what degenerating reoccurring injuries can do...... Cooney brownlow to bust nearly.
  9. Yes, but i was just saying the difference in recruiting both players i would be happy to go to the draft and come back with : Hogan, Tyson, Wellingham and Viney that would be a super scenario. If Dom is set on leaving and GWS see this happens through Caddy maybe giving picks 3-4 for MD pick 1 and Dom will get it done. Edit - If this backfired in 2 years time it would be the conclusion of all our drafting blunders.......
  10. I would think and this is one that they all suggested but makes some sense, IF Giles leaves GWS need a ruck, pick 16 and Clarke who could be GWS's first ruck would be tempting but not enough i admit. Could Martin be a good piece in the MD puzzle? played first ruck for about 12 games not long ago?
  11. What is our heartland? we have the smallest membership in Melbourne because we have not let outsiders in for years. I think the best expansion area is Casey and will remain so, but to have admin and facilities solely out in that neck of the woods is not logistically good. Where are all our current members flooding in form? they arnt.
  12. Difference is Dom is worth our pick 4 and Wellingham pick 13 or so.
  13. Hard to know what to believe, is Tredrea doing the same thing so that Port dont look like a shambles and a basket case? Put something out their suggesting we didnt pick him through someone not 100% connected to our view? but linked to the club?
  14. I think you are right Robbie, previously we just did the give them time and games thing, and the stock up on high picks thing, which got us some "talent" But now Neeld and co are doing the , train hard "thing", and the elite compliance "thing", you only play if you are good enough "thing" Also the fact that we now have a serious coaching department which we have never had tbh The main part is gettin grid of people who dont want to work hard enough, and replacing them with people who are hungry for a chance
  15. Or Matt Couch, Brad from last year MD's brother, but Couch, Billings and kelly alla look like good mids
  16. Have heard his name thrown around, just not on DL.... one of few options left. Other one i heard on SEN last night/this morning was Nathan Basset best coach outside the AFL apparently, doing wonders at Norwood or somewhere and linked to Hawthorn for a senior assistants position also....
  17. I agree Jose, only situation i would consider it would be if we get a second round 2 pick from FA in the late late 20's and he is available because he was talked up as a 5-15 pick 15 at the absolute latest. I feel someone will go for him. BUT with his brother struggling similarly at Geelong you just need to wonder if either of them can string a career together no matter how much talent they have?
  18. Grunt work and hardest is good, but you need to get the ball more than 10 times a game to be of any use imo.
  19. I do not have that worry tbh, against the medium forwards he can more than hold his own. He has only had the one true run in our team also before his leg break. When he got going he showed he was very very good imo.
  20. I would rather it drag on, no reason for things to come out prior to trade week, so it just makes it awkward imo for everyone.....
  21. Someone on BF suggested it was a PCL so not severe and a bouta 6 week injury. Who knows, that would rule him out of the combine
  22. I have said this before but how in the hell is Etihad difficult to get too? i a stones throw from Melbournes biggest station and is 3 minutes from the other 1? easiest thing in the world imo
  23. Average player nominates essendon one year, trade cannot get done while essendon dont have picks matching his worth. next year picks a more sort after destination to make things easy haha
  24. I think this is your best trade yet, could even make it a 3 way trade with Carlton to push the whole deal through. I also think we could try and push another 2/3rd roudner out of it and maybe something else late Carltons way as pick 9 is the tops Caddy is worth imo.
  25. Because his under age year had him rated as potentially the best player in the country, he broke his leg badly, google the picture if you want to see it is sickening. Selwood dropped due to injury and came in straight away for Geelong. these players who are so highly rated dont just lose the talent, eg Darling had a bad second year at 18's. He can play forward and kick bags, or midfield and use his size and strength to dominate. He is the most Pavlich type player since Pavlich. He is sliding because many teams dont have the luxury to risk him super early. i dont think us or the dogs can afford to gamble in the top 6, and then other teams just outside the 8 will become more interested. If we let Grundy slip then he will be taken by Port. If he slips to pick 12 he will be well worth the risk, but i think Saints, carlton or Richmond will take him before then....
