But you dont think MFC will want to offer the comp pick first which was my point? the deal may not get done for it and may end up with pick 20, that does not mean that we have it on the table now, we may settle to get the deal done, or may get it done for a compo pick and something like Martin imo

Sylvia for a 2 pick upgrade imo is well overs, when Sylvia showed alot in the second half of the year, got praise form Neeld for turning it around during this time also. And is imo a top 10 player at our club

No Geoff walsh knows that Pick 20 is the max they can get, so if you want that you need to start at a position lower to meet in the middle, you NEVER open with your best offer, pick 20 in our case. Thought you were smarter than believing what some Collingwood [censored] suggest on radio 10 minutes after Dawes nominates us, doesnt leave much time for us to offer pick 20 in between

Where is the club quoted what we have "offered" for Dawes?

The longer this drags on, suggest to me that we either want change or think we can get it done with a compo pick around 27-30

Started the season injured, and then got a broken jaw mid season in his Casey return...... that is my take, also was unfit all preseason i think he can improve big time with this preseason and an uninterupted run. Also some hardcore dedication, not saying he doesnt have this just that it will be required to take the steps required. He is one who should be strapped to Jones like Blease is rumoured to be doing this offseason.

Someone said they heard or maybe its their opinion that GWS may think they can just trade for a Jacobs Maric or Mumford in a year or two rather than spending the big picks on the ruckman now

In the end will will have another 4 drafts before we can even think premiership thats 4 top 10 mids potentially and another 4 before 25 essentially if we want also? taking best available is always the best bet imo and you can carry more younger mids once Jones, Grimes, Viney and Trengove have matured as said they come more ready made.

Yeah nice depth has a go but hasnt shown me he will be part of any decent midfield i am afriad. well behind Magner imo

People throw this comment about so often, who is the weakest player in a MFC jumper, Watts?, Morton, bennel? Cook? Davey? Blease? also Stauss? He is not weak imo, before the break he was proving he has skills and was good playing on the smaller backs and creating play

This is right on Dawes value imo, with maybe a 3rd rounder or something coming back more likely 4th

I agree with what you are saying AD, but we all know we need a mid at 4 more than a back imo Ifwe keep Rivers we will be looking fine, also with one of Davis or Williams coming on could help

Yep can look everyhwhere but forward for a long time if we get Dawes
