  1. I'll happily admit i'm a hypocrite. I'm loving the media trash talking the Bombers, but hated when the shoe was on the other foot! But part of me feels like the Bombers are accused of a serious breaches which deserve it, where as our 'tanking' investigation is based on a wishy washy 'rule' and is taking place 2-3 years after it happened
  2. any way you spin it, this drug scandal has brought the game into disrepute. I honestly cant remember a scandal that could equal the negative effect that this one will have on the public's perception of the game. Even if the club are cleared by the WADA, i'd expect the AFL to slap the bombers pretty hard
  3. This one has an even better title though!
  4. Jose made a post early on which seems to be echoed by a bomberblitz poster; The substance is NOT prohibited under the WADA code unless it’s used in a certain way (known as an intravenous infusion). I don't think anyone is alleging we have illegally administered the substance to our players - it’s definitely allowed to be injected, subject to certain limitations on the amount and the frequency of the injections. Based on what I've been told, I think we can ignore all the "injecting room scandal" stories. The problem is that although it’s not banned by WADA, it’s illegal to import, manufacture or purchase this substance in Australia. As such, I think the feeling is that the players may be safe, but the investigation centres on the fact that someone at the club (and I think I have an idea who) may be in some serious trouble for possessing and administering the substance to our players here in Australia. I’m pretty sure this is where the whole “criminal drug gang” angle to this story has come from. Doing my best Carro impersination (joining dots haphazardly) i'd say Dank has been investigated by the Fed's for possessing and administering the substance in Aus, the bombers caught wind of this and called the press conference to get the WADA involved. This way the players will be cleared as its not a banned substance. You think that Dank and Wepon and perhaps the club will be smashed for breaking the law though.
  5. anyone else think that McVeigh's comments were a good sign from a ex leader at their club? Would have loved Jr, Robbo or Bruce to come ou and say "Brock is a digrntled ex player who is talking smack"......
  6. He will identify himslef through angry questions about the colour red (or not red....) we've been using on our jumpers & membership scarfs!
  7. Wonder how all the bomber fans are feeling now? Doping is on another level to bottoming out for draft picks. If we were at the center of doping allegations i'd feel betrayed by the club
  8. maybe the AFL went so hard on tanking to make the public percieve that they are running a competition of total integrity Seems like the reality is far different - they seem happy to facilitate a system where drug use is practically condoned & doping is not tested for?
  9. agreed, its refreshing to read the backpage without having to put up with some journo backhanding the club we love. long may it stay this way!
  10. Sloonie, i've gotta say I can pick up on your pure, unbridled joy in every post. Makes some hilarious reading. Carry on!
  11. Just saw channel 7s report on the bombers in the 6 o'clock bulletin. Came across like reimers has made a claim, and the bombers are nipping it in the bud before it gets any momentum. Knowing that reimers is basically white trash it'll be interesting to see if the bombers really have any case to answer.
  12. Old Dee. If i remember rightly your daughter chose not to follow the dee's like her old man - she follows the bombers? Pass on our regards!
  13. I love this thread's title - Essendon Drug Cheats? just sayin
  14. any way you look at it this is bad news for the AFL and Essendon. Its almost hypocrytical to be commenting on this so early as a MFC member, but the implications that preformance enhancing drugs has on the intergrity of the AFL are much greater than whether or not a cr@p side deliberatly took advantage of their down years to maximise their draft rewards. Will be interesting to see if they drag this one out. If the 2012 Brownlow medalist is implicated it gets very interesting Put that in your pipe and smoke it Tim Watson, you f#ckin smug muppet!
  15. Clothier needs a new project to drag out and keep him on the pay roll at AFL house....
  16. yep one thing is for sure, CW has absolutley no say in the outcome of this investigation
  17. RPFC i get the feeling you write these massive posts to convince yourself and others that we wont be charged. You make valid points but unfortunatley your post will not have any say in the final outcome. So we sit and wait until the AFL make a decision
  18. Twitter has definitely had a negative effect on journalists though - now days they don’t need to leave the comfort of their desk to get a ‘story’. Joe blogs posts a picture on twitter which shows an AFL player p1ssed = story. Player posts a photo of themselves on twitter doing something stupid = story. A ‘journalist’ for a trashy tabloid or news website can do all of their research work browsing social media and worse still the public lap it up. its a joke.
  19. I'm happy for Dee's fans to hold a grudge against Wilson. those articles were over the top. I'm also more than happy for Dee's fans to hold a grudge against $cully. heis a dog
  20. touche
  21. I see the AFL making a statement that clears us and acknowledges the grey area that had been exploited by other clubs previously.
  22. at this point in time i think writing long winded posts about why we will or wont be found guilty is a waste of cyber space. We've covered it all already. I just wish the AFL would make a decision, so we can move on regardless of which way it goes.
  23. great post jacko. I agree, flash is great to watch in good form
