It was pleasing to see the Demon younger brigade, Taj Woewodin, Pup Brown, Will Verrall, Luker Kentfield, and Bailey Laurie contribute strongly to the win too. Of the VFL listed guys plaudits to Tom Freeman and Wardell Lual for their manful efforts in defence. Tom Fullerton played his best game for the season there too. A high quality effort all round. The younger brigade Adams, Brown, Kentfield, Mentha, Sestan, Verrall, Woewodin, plus older heads Billings, Campbell, Culley, Fullerton, Laurie would you’d (depending on fitness) think be most likely included. Henderson, Howes, Jefferson, Johnson, Spargo, Tholstrup, Howes may or may not meet the selection criteria? Some of the younger VFL listed guys Mitch Kirkwood Scott, Tyson Sruk and Paddy Cross are worthy inclusions but would get the nod after who’s in and out from the AFL squad members.

Back in the Dreamtime when Max’s captaincy was in its infancy. At a pre-game practice session at Marrara. Max ball in hand came charging out of the Michael Long Centre down the player race onto the oval. Perpendicular to the goal posts Max kicked the ball off the outside of his left boot at a right angle through the centre of the goals. Casual as you like, did Allen Jakovich proud.

BTO Earl? Backman Turner Oversight. The game may have changed but would have thought you put your best players forward of the ball. Last time he was swung forward in Alice missed a few opportunities but has otherwise been a capable goal kicker. Team selection and performance this season has farcical at times. Reminiscent of Stan Keaton reprising Desperate Dan at the Last Chance Saloon.
