  1. Out of contract at the end of the year. So if Sheahan isn't just talking rubbish and they are interested, and he wants to go, we get nothing - except of course a speculative draft pick. Can't be bothered going into the formula - its all speculation and rubbish at this stage.
  2. Correct. Sheahan on 3AW says he is very much on their radar.
  3. I think Essendon, Richmond and North. With Sydney here possible
  4. Glad your kids had a great time! In regards to your quote above - does not surprise me! He was extremely vocal all game on Sunday.
  5. You cant win the rising star if you are reported and points given equal over 100, under the sames rules as the Brownlow. See below.
  6. It sure is. Great move by Tony, he should be really congratulated. Thanks longsuffering.
  7. I believe the original idea was to create one big banner all about Jimmy. Correct me if I am wrong guys.
  8. Point out to me where I said anything bad about the "people back then"? I never did.
  9. Correct me if Im wrong, but I think Tony is the one who was behind the idea in the first place on Demonology and here. Congratulations on getting this off the ground. Although not the original idea which was first floated, it was a great move!
  10. My tip is Stratton from the Hawks for this weeks nom.
  11. It is what most good players would do in that situation. Seriously, I am not sure what you expected him to do? It is not his fault whoever was playing on Tippet decided that he wouldn't man him up at the stoppage. Blame Tippet's direct opponent at the time, who should have been there to force the ball over the line.
  12. Hahahaha! Good comment!!! Knowing his professionalism - most teens eat ice cream and drink milkshakes their whole recovery from wisdom teeth. Scully however, probably only sucked on ice blocks!
  13. I dont actually think Cheney will be suspended. It wasnt late, it wasnt high. But who knows with the MRP. I dont see why Warnock will come straight back in - but he may. However I cant think of a forward he would suit playing on, maybe Gumbleton. Hoping to see Jurrah and Sylvia will almost definitely come in. Bail is recovered. He is back from a cheekbone injury, if he wasnt recovered he wouldnt be playing at Casey. For mine: Out - Grimes, Jetta, Spencer In - Jurrah, Sylvia, Bail
  14. Freak was talking about 2005-6. You are talking about 2007. However, I have to pick you up on a few points. Bailey/Connolly were responsible for the retirements of White and Yze and the trading of Johnstone. Also the recruitment of Grimes, Morton etc. The Board of back then in now way started the rebuild we are hopefully nearing an end of.
  15. I will have a crack. Bartram - kicking ability lacking Bate - well shut down Bennell - glimpses of class Bruce - excellent first half Davey - lazy lazy lazy Dunn - kept on presenting Frawley - better than looked Garland - getting better weekly Green - did job quietly Grimes - missed his nous Jamar - games best ruckman Jetta - out for sylvia Jones - good learning curve MacDonald - attacks every contest Moloney - hard and important Rivers - nothing worth noting Scully - quiet but classy Trengove - looks a veteran Watts - showing promising signs McKenzie - won seven clearances Spencer - unnecessary next week
  16. 6. Trengove 5. Green 4. Watts 3. McKenzie 2. Dunn 1. Frawley
  17. Imitation is one of the highest forms of respect, so thanks for that. Have you realised nobody has agreed with you about anything you have said? You dont seem to very well understand the workings of the inner sanctum of a football club. This all stemmed with you being annoyed at last weeks performance. Now you are saying that if you get thumped, that you need to bounce back. We havnt played the game this afternoon yet, so maybe wait til then before you hit the roof. Our team has shown that they can do this. I present to you the evidence of Round 2 pies match after the Round 1 thumping. I present to you the evidence of the Bulldogs game after the Kangas game. I present to you the Port game after the West Coast game. We didnt win them all, but we sure as hell BOUNCED BACK HARD as you like to put it. Of course the Board and the football are one of the same. But it is very clear that it is not their role. A board, of any business, appoint a board to complete the tasks they want completed. Chris Connolly, Dean Bailey etc have been appointed to do this. And nah, I don't want a dynasty. Why would I? Are you really that thick that that is what you gathered from my post? You need to lift, and support this side through thick and thin, and have a little bit of patience. Cultures are not changed overnight.
  18. Warning jayceebee. They wont let you take food into the ground from the outlets outside.
  19. I think you are joking...I hope you are!
  20. Definitely. Will be heading off shortly. Hopefully we have a bit of a turn out. Not 'liking' a particular ground never really seems a good excuse not to turn up. Get there and hope the boys can put up a committed effort and raise their heads after last weeks effort. Also praying for no injuries from game. Always worried seeing that moving turf. Go Dees!
  21. Has to be Spencer, considering he is playing today.
  22. A really good bloke too. Spoke to him a couple of times when he was playing in the VFL. I cant imagine how Palmer would be feeling. A complete lack of talk and awareness from him in that situation. Damn unlucky for Michael.
  23. First - the point of the thread is to point out what a great article was written. It is to clearly point out the beginning of the Stynes/McClardy relationship, how it has built over the years, their mutual respect for each other, and to show the Melbourne faithful that we are in very good hands. Second - since when is it the role of a board of directors to eradicate the type of performance we had last week and against West Coast? Sure, they appoint the coaching staff etc, but that is nowhere near their role, and it shouldn't be. I would much prefer my board, who as members we elect, to be putting their efforts into making our club equal to or exceed the financial powerhouses of the competition, making us a viable going concern, providing us with the MONEY and RESOURCES to build a football team which has everything at their disposal that they can realistically need and want. With these resources, the football department can then work to weed out mediocre performance. But then again, who would have thought a young team would be inconsistent? Third - Since when have we ever been in a position where we are expected to win? We do not have that luxury, and never should. Once that attitude comes in, from supporters, and from players, we are going to struggle. You do not go to any game of football expecting to win. Hey, maybe your expectation has led to those type of performances you mention above. No team should ever expect to win, and neither should its supporters. It only leads to complacency. We cannot and never have been afforded that luxury.
  24. Gee you did a great job of finding a negative out of a very big positive article. Flanagan is a journalistic genius, every single article of his is so well written and written with passion. Makes the lesser journalists look like the D graders that they are. And once again he has put together a beauty.
  25. Sorry jumbo, I didn't realize you bet your sense of humour on the dees to win last weekend
