and dont forget that 3rd round pick...... If GWS get our 2nd rounder for Bugg I'm going to scream .
-
We got killed in this deal. What an absolute shambles of a trade week! Collingwood lost Seedman and Kennedy for Howe and 68 (win) Port romped it home. Adelaide only cost them pick 32 for Seedman. WHY THE HELL DIDNT WE GET 29 and 32! Why didnt we get Collingwood's second rounder?
-
Andersen is arguing that we are getting an alright deal as Toump and Howe are inconsistent / underperforming. However, I think we are getting screwed. Looks like Collingwood will get Howe for Kennedy, Seedsman, and a 3 pick drop in their second rounder.
-
Townsend from GWS to Richmond for a 4th round. So third round for Bugg should be pretty easy.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Dee-licious replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Been watching a lot of footy and have never seen his highlights look like that. Well played Melbourne's editing team, well played. Welcome young Jake. Looking forward to 8 years of great service. -
Weiderman and Curnow are the experts bet. Weiderman a key forward. Curnow a 191 forward / mid with speed
-
Maybe it will be done tomorrow. Jay Clark confirming paperwork done for Trealor. As expected, 2 firsts for Trealor and a 2nd. Will that be 2 seconds coming our way for young Jeremy? I'm only interested if GWS want them and third round for Pick 8 and Bugg.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

[censored] Ex-Bomber Melksham lands at Melbourne MELBOURNE has secured midfielder/half-back Jake Melksham from Essendon in exchange for selection No.25 in the NAB AFL Draft. General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said Melksham, who played 114 matches for the Bombers from 2010-15, had been targeted to play a specific role at the club. “During this trade period we were looking for players who could come in and play straight away and Jake was identified as a potential player that fit into that category,” he told melbournefc.com.au. -

Trade Radio are saying it is done in principle but there is still a possibility we are getting something back in return -
AFL releasing a video of Robbo and Parish today. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2015-10-15/draft-hopeful-versus-a-champ Is it fate or are they laughing at us?

This message from Mahoney is so strong and I love it. Getting on the front foot to the HS rumours and just slammed them. Interesting that Nial hasnt spoken to the club about a preference to go to the Pies. Thought that that would have been the first call this morning. Game on.

Yep, why do they footballing gods hate us. Havent we suffered enough!

I just dont know where we get the pick from. We'd need to sacrifice one of Bugg, Melksham, or Kennedy. Brett Andersen (SEN) fairly certain that the 3 will end up in the red and the blue next year. He also thinks Pick 3 is now dead and we will be looking at Weiderman to partner Hogan. https://twitter.com/BrettAndersonIF/with_replies

In my mind, I'd be thinking something like this. Thoughts? I'm trying to work out who wins in the deal and cant. There is upside and downside for all three clubs. Melbourne In: Pick 3, Kennedy, Pick 26 Out: Howe, Pick 6, Pick 25 Gold Coast In: Pick 6, Seedsman, Pick 25 Out: Pick 3, Pick 35 Collingwood In: Howe, Pick 35 Out: Kennedy, Seedsman, Pick 26
-
Mahoney indicated we'd be taking 3-5 picks in the draft. He said that there are some good players we can pick up with later picks but the best were in the top 10 (obviously, but I think he meant there was a big drop off).
-
We need to look at Howe and Collingwood and Seedsman to GC as one trade. I'm sure you can all work out a way we get Kennedy and pick 3 in that scenario =) Tis not over yet.
-
Stevens, Ralph and Ox have reported Howe preference to Collingwood but nothing else as yet. I guess we just sit and wait (and [censored]) about him until he says something publicly.
-
They want Howe and we want Kennedy. Both want to head to the respective destinations but one is a 100 game established player and one is making their way in the AFL. We still hold the upper hand in trying to get something back in return here as Howe cant go into the pre-season draft (GC will nab him). The other thing that plays into our favour is GC are willing to part with pick 3 and steak knives. Established value on the trade table. I'd argue for Howe for Kennedy and 2nd round pick. Even then I think they are getting a great deal. We need to hold on this and try and push the GC deal because Collingwood will need Trelor, Freeman and Seedsman trades through first before they work on Howe and AIsh. The other thing is that is Ralph. It could be bad info. Last night it was GC, now it is Collingwood. Tomorrow night it could be the Kangas. Collingwood means eyeballs and paper sales. I'd go early with the pies as well.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/jeremy-howe-appears-headed-to-collingwood/story-fnp04d70-1227569137659 Gist of the article is that it is not a done deal. He is considering all options next week (gets back on Saturday). But seems to allude we'd get Kennedy and a second rounder? or just a second rounder and not Kennedy. Very vague. Seems like he went to market early so he could have the scoop. MELBOURNE high-flyer Jeremy Howe seems headed to Collingwood in a deal that gives the Pies the two most spectacular marking players in the game. The Herald Sun understands Collingwood’s interest in Howe dates back more than a month, with the Demon meeting with coach Nathan Buckley several times. Both Howe and Buckley have been in Bali in recent days but the Pies actually made their play to the Demon weeks ago in a detailed presentation. Gold Coast have given up any hope he will be heading north, with the Pies set to hand him an official offer overnight or today. A deal will likely involve a player swap for Collingwood midfielder Ben Kennedy, who is determined to find his way to Melbourne. A deal of about $400,000 a year for four seasons would see high-leaping Jamie Elliott and Howe uniting in the Pies forward line next year.

Rosa could be a good move based on what we are thinking in the draft. If it is Parish, I dont really see us taking Rosa as we (hopefully) will be adding Kennedy to the midfield and rotation with Bugg and Melksham. If one of these falls over or we think we want Francis with pick 3, then maybe not a bad option. Vince worked out well.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Dee-licious replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Collingwood have come out and said they are not interested in the Port boys. If we want Kennedy we need to come at them with a good deal. They know Freeman and Seedsman are gone but havent lost hope in keeping Kennedy. Ball is in our court. -

Bennell is apparently getting sent to Freo for their 2nd round. So I guess that could be our steak knives and then on to Collingwood -
It is being reported as Howe and 6 for 3 and "steak knives" (Mark Stevens). So player or maybe a late second rounder they might pick up. Hoping it is a second rounder that we can hand over for Melksham.

I agree. If we can finish this week with our second and third rounder for Melksham, Kennedy, and Bugg we are on track for a big off season.
