  1. Smith was off the ground for one of Charlie’s goals and another was when Rivers missed a handball and gave it straight to Charlie. So let’s at least judge Smith realistically.
  2. Hey Picket, you must be thrilled to see anybody who is vaccinated can attend the game tomorrow, rub shoulders and share a drink with their best mate but you were locked out and forced to watch training through a fence when there would have been nobody within 50 metres had you been allowed inside the ground. Go figure. Thanks so much for your efforts over the preseason, your reports were insightful, detailed, imaginative and well written which helped me and I imagine many others get through the preseason. Outstanding work, many thanks.
  3. I asked a curly question LH. I asked how members were supposed to make a decision on who to elect to the Board if candidates were only allowed to submit a 300 word description on their credentials. When i logged on last night it kept freezing so I'll watch today. I didn't expect an answer to my question but Roffey ducks anything hard. I've lost a lot of respect for the Board. Thank heavens the players have higher standards.
  4. Great stuff George, many thanks.
  5. Who is “they”?
  6. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1027279/dee-s-day-lauren-magee?videoId=1027279&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1635114842001 I assume both Goldie and Lauren are double vaccinated and yet they still have to put up with this despite there being 1000+ cases a day. Go figure. Hang in there ladies and welcome back! And thanks for going through all this, I feel for you.
  7. Time for a shout out to the Club for the fantastic stuff they are putting on the MFC site at the moment. And a special shout out to Jack, Tom and Max who have been front and centre of so many thrashings and so much pain as we bottomed and then rebuilt. What a mighty effort to stay the distance when it would have been so much easier to just take easier options. Jack's bit on the MFC site is a huge insight into the frustrations and hurt the players endured and make the "the players don't care" comments just so inappropriate. And of course to JT, to hear his comments on the strain of watching your picks run around and wondering if you'll have a job in future just as telling. Of course that applies to all the FD staff. What a brutal business.
  8. Sorry, I should have been more specific. What would you do about COVID and opening up?
  9. So if you were in charge what would you do Webber?
  10. So you think we’ll take him?
  11. I contacted the Demon Shop who advised me that they are working with suppliers to get DVD's of the entire season so if you are thinking of getting this why not wait until the Demon Shop has it and buying if from them. I don't know if it will have an alternative commentary option.
  12. My preferred option is to share the gate on both games. To me, that's the fairest way.
  13. Jack I don't think he played a game with Casey. His first ACL was in February 2019 and I think I'm right in saying his only outing was against the Richmond 2nds this year at Casey where he played less than a half. I watched him at training a fair bit in PS 2020 and he looked good. He had a bit of the Ed Langdon's about him with his running ability but his disposal was iffy. He found the ball easily and held his own in match sims. Very disappointing for the lad and I wish him all the best.
  14. Saty isn't everyone's cup of tea but I doubt there are many better supporters. He attended every training session at Gosch's he could get to, he'd organize his shift work to attend, he'd work the phones ringing past members asking them to re-sign in the dark days and he's worked outside the MCG giving members their scarves well into the start of game to make sure they were looked after. But more than that. When things were bad he wasn't. He was as supporters should be, supportive and helpful to the club doing what he could to improve us. And to many on Demonland he provided training reports and some information that wasn't available elsewhere on player's situations and injury. I haven't seen him here this year and that is in large part I imagine to training not being at Gosch's and the small minority on here who belittled his input and made life pretty unpleasant for him. But he's one of the true believers and I hope wherever you are Saty you are soaking up the thrill of the flag and it's rewarded you in some way for all your past efforts. Cheers mate, I look forward to catching up.
  15. from the club?
  16. Axis do you think he didn't play team football before this year?
  17. Love your work Joeboy but I think Fritta was the cake.
  18. Many thanks Ash, hope you and your family are coping in these awful times. Exciting times for us, we have a club we can be proud of. You're welcome on the bandwagon any time you like.
  19. I read the first part of the thread to fill in some Pre GF time. I noted some of the early debate and thought I’d post it for fun. I’m not having a crack at anyone here, it’s just for fun!
  20. Did May do the session?
  21. Gawn Salem Petracca Oliver Viney Harmes
  22. With NSW and Victoria now well past COVID zero what's the issue with people coming here from OS? They quarantine for 14 days and at worst a couple more cases get out. I've got a mate who is stuck in NSW having gone to see his daughter and granddaughter and has been for the last 6 weeks or so. It's costing him a fortune. What's the issue if he comes to Victoria and isolates for 14 days? On the other hand I've got relations who are moving to WA permanently. They've got permission to go there and leave in 3 days but a resident of Victoria can't get back in. Can someone explain that?
  23. And all of this with a massive budget surplus. It doesn't make sense.
  24. 2019 was a fantastic effort by our recruiting team not only that they got it right but Jackson and Kossie were gutsy calls. There were question marks over each but both have proven outstanding. And it's not only 2019, it's what JT has done in the last 4 years. Games played is from a couple of weeks ago: This has been our drafting since 2017 with picks in the top 50: 2020 Bowey P21 4 2020 Laurie P22 0 2020 Rosman P34 0 2019 Jackson P3 27 2019 Pickett P12 36 2019 Rivers P32 31 2018 Sparrow P27 20 2018 Jordon P33 21 2017 Spargo P29 56 2017 Fritsch P31 82 2017 Petty P35 27 2017 Baker P48 13 Nine of twelve picks are now regulars in the team. Two are untried and one is probably a fail. I reckon that's pretty incredible. Of that group only Spargs played against WCE in 2018 final although Fritta played in the previous two finals. That's pretty amazing.
