  1. ? do you mean more reliable (at this stage), or more likely to make it (which Brown has already)?
  2. Max is surely not a fringe player ??
  3. ??????????????
  4. A bit like (a then injury ridden) Scott Thompson going to Adelaide. Anyone remember did we get anything for him? Like Melbourne as in the capital of Victoria, or Melbourne as in MFC????
  5. Pffff.....Bradman choked with a duck in his last innings when he needed a mere 4 to get a 100.00 average. Some Demonologists would no doubt be labeling him as a dud ?

Beware - if Clarrie was getting too close to the bookies' favorite in the next few weeks*, the MRP would be instructed (by the Integrity Department no less) to find some tiny indiscretion (maybe a high tackle they could deem deliberate and dangerous) to ensure that the chosen one wins. The media and the gaming / gambling industry call the shots at AFL HQ. * and I do not believe the BS that they always spin about all votes being locked away at Chubb or Mayne etc. They know. Maybe Gil gets the duplicates.

One very determined dude we have there. Willed himself to do it. Well done Clarrie.
  8. Maybe the premise was that having him on our list would mean that he cannot play against us would in turn mean that we may eventually beat Norf. He seems to turn it on every time we play them.

I would see him as an 7.5/10 player. A good foot soldier but not a star. IF the price is right, yes. But not a must.
  10. Given that Tom has had to play forward with Jesse's numerous outages, and will unfortunately probably have to continue to do so, we don't have another option. Yes of course we should look at Lever, but do we have enough to offer for him?
  11. Winning even narrowly is far better than losing: we aren't used to repeatedly winning. And our manic game style is hard to sustain over 4 quarters. Just learning to keep winning, then learn how to crush. That said, I sincerely hope that we can dominate and crush Norf this weekend.

How does one (oldie) do that?
  13. Disappointing that he hasn't taken on the on field leadership role when the skippers went down. Very happy that he offered ANB that option at the death knell today though. And kicked the goal - you never know it could even make a difference re percentage.
  14. Don't forget too that his Brownlow eligibility has been protected. Maybe Gil knows that he is in the lead at this stage.
  15. Even made GAJ pull a sickie rather than face JV.
  16. Another one bites the dust ?
  17. So good to get a goody (in fact more than one) from the Druggers, after Moorcroft, Heffernen etc

and, furthermore, hasn't happened before either.
  19. steve - did you enjoy the moment and enjoy the win, or are you more concerned that it, in your view, happened by accident? Enjoy the win. Neeld said we would be the hardest team to play against, though I think he meant under his reign, not half a decade later.
  20. I agree fully, best game I have seen him play, yet ironically he could well be "managed" this week due to team balance and the need and (eventually) availability of a real ruckman. Also, there was talk at some stage of an injury. Any follow up on this?

We have a couple of beauties there in Oliver and McCartney. ???
  22. I am not a lawyer, but understand that the requirement in a civil case is balance of probabilities. Still, does he know with what he was injected? Can Dank be subpoenaed? And what if Dank is and says he has no records? All very difficult.
  23. Serious question re Hulett .....have you actually seen much of him at VFL ? Has always looked a good build on the track
  24. Great work, Ash Wow....I always remember Jako and Jurrah as wasted (or unfulfilled) talent but I had forgotten just how good Sean Charles could have been had he stayed on track. Co-incidentally wasn't it dome form of wrist fracture that contributed to the demise of both Jurrah and Charles, taking them away from the stability of the club onto errant ways.
