Lyon must have had his head in the stats book (when it wasn’t somewhere darker and far more unpleasant) to say that Brown kicked 4 goals ON Oscar. Is he unable to look at a game and see what eventuates and how Brown got his goals? At one stage he was mooted as a potential MFC coach - thank the Lord that he wasn’t, though he would have made Mark Neeld look good.

To me he seems the archetypal quiet achiever. And succesful teams need their scattering of quiet achievers.

Rubbish. Looking at an opponent then blocking him is, sure, but Lever did not block him (other that head butting Goldstein’s forearm I guess). Certain heads it seems are (Selwood, Ablett, in particular) but others are not

Some people just can’t see positives in anything. To me Salem wanted to achieve his very best .... maybe at a time when the club was required NOT to be involved with player training programs, or just to come back to official club activities ahead of the game. Nothing wrong with wanting to achieve an edge (not the EssUndone way) through extra personal effort. All kudos to him.

I looked at the goal highlights and was also most impressed by Weideman’s Kicking technique - always have been since his debut but we had more opportunities to observe it in this clip. Well done .... I hope he remains at Casey until the powers that be feel he is really ready for AFL ..... but of course I don’t know, could be this week or next month? To any who were at the game, how much ruck work did he do and how did he go at it? Does he look strong enough for ruck work at AFL level this year?
