  1. Where we you four months, 100s of pages and thousands of posts ago? I started the season with hair, I've since dropped 20 kilos and am bald.
  2. He left Casey because we didn't allow MFC players to play with Casey in the finals IIRC. The result, a very weak Casey team that bowed out. Personally, I thought it was poor form by MFC in the first year of the 'partnership'. So, off he went. Can't blame him
  3. Not exactly considering this likely, probable or a viable option, but has Peter German's name been raised? His name was floating about when the North job was up for grabs I think (before Scott got it). Our old Casey coach of course and highly rated I believe. Certainly a 'senior', 'successful' and 'experienced' coach and loves a good spray based on me wandering onto Casey fields at quarter time. Just a thought. discuss...
  4. We need leadership and at the very least, Gary is that. Couldn't be happier he's getting involved. He speaks well, cuts the crap and people (especially players) will listen
  5. Can't believe Adam Yze, who I loved to watch, is kicking us while we're down. Apalling and bitter. Decisions were made for a reason. If I recall, I don't believe he played under bailey, so he would have no clue. There's a good team in there somewhere, who just needs standards put in place and non-negiotables by a good coaching group. Bailey was good for the kids and they liked him, but it's time to get very serious now with the next appointment.

Yes, hard not to think that.

    Tom Scully

I am treading a fine line, I do have faith in Tom, but I am uneasy and not as dismissive as some that so many people are saying he's gone (and with such certainty). It's not good for the club and will only get worse in the lead up to possibly finals. The preference must certainly be with Melbourne. He would have to leave family / friends / home and be run ragged until his knee falls off at GWS. He will be a star no doubt, but I dont see the logic from GWS. He is effectively a draftee, of which they will have plenty of (and good ones).

Depsite my post, I am not questioning his integrity at all. Full faith in what Tom has said previously, but this whole thing the AFL has created promotes deceit.

    Tom Scully

Reasonable question. I would say his job is to report on some news, like actually provide something of value rather than stoke the same fire. Step A: find something out. Step B: Get some proof. This whole thing is so painful, precisely for this reason. Baseless rumours from nameless people. This whole saga is being carried out like school in july - no class! If he has signed something and knows his intentions (which he surely does), then he should tell the club and pack his locker. Although, if he has then the press conference was self preservation. All that we do know, is that someone is lying. Hope it's not Tom (I have faith btw).

Not quite a dog, but Mark Stevens is blabbing further about Scully going. To be fair, he seems to be responding to supporters who have similar concerns to us. If true, the club must know. And if it is true, then surely we wouldn't be playing him. Terrible management, if anything it associates Tom with lying. StevoHeraldSun Mark Stevens @JamesNanks all I will say is someone I trust, who is extremely well connected, says Scully 100 pc gone. Sad but seemingly true. 2 hours ago

I am developing paranoia, I have that bird from the Simpsons tapping refresh for any updates....If this is worth anything at all, Petterd thinks Scully will stay. My mate was at a fundraiser, which Ricky was at. Naturally, in my state, rather than pass on my thanks for the defination of forward pressure on the weekend, I made him ask Ricky Bobby about Scully to which he replied, "I think he will stay". What else was he meant to say, but a small hit for my addiction.
  14. Well, that's sad. I still think loyalty has a place and is certainly valued. Lance Franklin turned down Gold Coast amongst a host of others, and were applauded. There's a legacy issue also. Their careers a short, but they have a wealth of lucrative opportunities after football from being in this environment - especially if you can play. I never got to sit down with Garry and talk about business.
  15. Thanks mate. Guess it helps when your dad was the Richmond president for a decade. A flawed profession.
  16. Too many people liken this to a work (normal job) situation. I certainly don't see it that way. It is a club, which has much different values to an office. This isn't a discreet office move for extra money, sport, well Australian sport, still has an element of loyalty to it and certainly evokes passion. In my journalist days I wrote on this topic in regards to the Gold Coast: http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/article/2010/06/07/179941_opinion.html
  17. Spot on. We fall to pieces if we don't win the middle. As soon as we don't the forward line leaves their post and ends up at half back as we press ourselves in own back half. May as well just start the forwards in the backline. At one point I saw Evans beckoning (i think) Jurrah to come further up, while the crowd was begging him to stay home. Clearly coaches instructions. The forwards are relinquishing their advantage as forwards and there is zero structure. If I was a defender, I know exactly where I would want Liam Jurrah.
  18. It's certainly not kicking to the same flank over and over again...My theory is you need a short accurate kick as the first, which sets you up for the long kick over the back of the press or a good kick in board. We are playing right into the presses hands by kicking long and trying to break through it. Watching Friday night worried me deeply. Watching everyone press up and having no forward line is pretty much a reverse press. We are pressing ourselves in our own backline! Compression?? We can't get it out becuase there is no one up the ground, forcing us to handball through it. It's like extracting teeth! Aslo, we seem to handball every time we take a relieving mark and create pressure (JMac even tried to handball lying down at full back - thankfully the umpire called it back). The instruction must be to play on whenever we can, but play on if there is no one up the ground to get it to. The game plan is flawed. If we are going to run with numbers from half back or wherever, hold the ball for a moment until the players make space in front. Anyway, my 2 cents.
  19. Blatant self promotion, but for those that are interested I wrote an article re the trengove issue (and the demise of our game), which appeared in the Geelong Advertiser today. Hope the attached work. Apologies if this should be posted in a different section. WMTH Geelong Advertiser - Trengove.pdf
  20. Don't even look at bigfooty...someone has heard Jamar is out for four....the walls are caving in!!
  21. MRP are the most disjointed part of the game. NFI. I understand they don't want to see the NRL 'chicken wing' tackle, but there was no malice in this, yet he appears to me made an example of. High contact! the MCG turf should get 4 weeks because JT never touched his head.
  22. Apparently touring fox sports and channel 10. Chips's twitter: Just in sydney for a few days to tour fox sports and channel 10 etc! Rooming with the big @JackWatts4 it's been a busy day!! Chilax peoples...photos for further proof on Cale Morton's twitter.
  23. I note scully is a part of the 'let your demon out' 2 membership ad on the website...good signs perhaps. Wouldn't usually put someone on that's off in a few months
  24. Not sure if an established club would hand down this harsh of a penalty, but IMO it is no question a good one for a developing club that is a young group and is trying to set a standard. good decision, it will probable make him as a player.
  25. Cringeworthy Geelong barely sung their song when they were winning (and they still are), we have to raise a flag to celebrate the momentus occasion of a regulation home and away victory. Further to that, we have a velvet clad trumpeter. Setting ourselves up for ridicule.
