Pretty sure from your comment that you haven't watched the race. I suggest you watch all 2.5 hours and listen to the expert commentary to gain some appreciation of the achievement.

Max had super glue on his hands today. He clunked a few really, really strong marks up forward and looked really hard to beat in the air. When he wasn't in position to mark, some of his spoils to advantage of our players were almost as good as a mark.

After a bit of a look on the Scorps website, their better players by my memory included: Ed Morris, Panozza, Rutherford, Best, Petropoulos, Troy Davis. Could be wrong on some of those - KC will have a much better idea. To clarify, I mean of the non-MFC players only.

Sorry - not much. I didn't see him in the play much, wasn't really looking out for him. Had one possession in front of me that was very nice - beautiful kick around the boundary line which showed he was a class above many others on the field for kicking skills at least.

Really liked Max's game and endeavour all day. Nicho was in the thick of it all day and played very well. Most of the time he kicked fine and didn't butcher it. I'd say Clisby's kicking was worse for not hitting targets than Nicho today. Jones Strauss and Clisby got into the game more after the 1st qtr. Was disappointed with Michie's game - he was in all the right places around the packs but seemed to get pounced on whenever he got the ball. Salem had a number of cameos with a mix of some nice bits of play and some bits where he didn't go hard enough. Strauss again running off back or half back made some good forward deliveries by foot. Some of the Casey boys really stood up well today - sorry, not familiar with most their names. That was the difference vs previous weeks that I have seen - we were competitive across most positions around the ground and it wasn't just up to the MFC boys.

Harms looks good when involved inside and around the packs.

Switching with Fitzy but Max is spending more time forward than in the ruck. Making really good marking contests or spoiling when he can't mark. In the ruck he is doing ok but I wouldn't say dominating.

Frankston kicking to scoring end favoured by breeze. 40 to 32 now. Scorps are getting it out from defence but dropping marks or errant kicks see them turning it over across the middle. Nicho is doing well in defence.

Scorps having a purple first qtr compared to recent form. BigMaxie at least 2 strong marks in packs plus 2-3 others and 2 goals when at full forward so far. Clisby has been in some good passages. Giorgio getting plenty down back. Not much yet from Strauss Michie M Jones and Fitzy. A little so far from Salem.

Chook, I agree I'd like to see that, but I reckon Tappy and Blease will get full game time (and Blease another week or two) to give the coaches enough info to go on for decision making at year end. Not much point naming someone as a sub if you want to decide on their future as a player.
