POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
This looked like a mid 2000 Melbourne game - in the dark dark times. Beaten on the inside, killed for pace on the outside, other team looks even faster because of their delivery skills. Missed tackles. We're desperately short of AFL grade personel, not hard enough, not skilled enough. I don't want to go back to the days of 3:20 Sunday games agains the Suns at the G with 9000 in attendance. But that's where we're heading unless we have a rejuvenation. Peter Jackson, where are you?

An external review of the Melbourne Football Club is required!
Interesting - do you have the median loss for those years?

True - I've just had another look at the film, and it's not really clear who made the suggestion - might have come from the box to Goodwin, or Burgess, or all multiple sources. I'll retract my comment about Burgess's tactial nouse - but he was a bloody good high performance/injury bloke.

The loss of Burgess has been keenly felt, I reckon. He was the instigator of leaving Jackson on the field at the end of the third quarter (Bang, Bang, Bang) - Goody just sort of agreed and broke the news to Max. Our injuries and our management of them - I don't know enough to compare Griffith and Burgess, but I do know that we have had plenty of problems with injuries 2022 onwards. Getting Burgess back (dream on) would be a major victory for the club.

Edward Wilson: "The real problem of humanity is the following: We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology. And it is terrifically dangerous, and it is now approaching a point of crisis overall" Our paleolithic midbrains are the target of the god-like technology, and we find it hard to resist!

OK - thanks. I thought he did. He's spoken about vaccinations - must have had embolization for the high-grade injury.

Do we know he was in isolation? That would be unusual... (I know a bit about splenectomies)

This. 1000% this. Peter Jackson, I reckon, saved the club and was exactly what we needed. And what we need now. He was a tough operator, experienced, and got so many things right. We really miss him (and Burgess - an under recognised loss. He was the one who had the conversation with Goodwin to keep Jackson in the ruck at the end of the third quarter of the Grand Final).

Goody is a genius!!!
I wasn’t there and couldn’t watch it online. I wonder about the influence of Melksham on our forward line. I reckon he’ll be a very good coach one day. Maybe even is one already?
