  1. So, is our much vaunted midfield as good as we think it is? Oliver, clearly, but the rest?
  2. couldn't get there. last week, smashed in clearances - but good enough to turn it over in our back 1/2 and score this week, smashed in clearances - and not good enough for those who know a bit - why failing "in the contest" ? personnel or plan or a bit of both.

    OK here
  4. There was another delicately build Melbourne player... Superstar. If he's 1/10 good as the Sainted Tulip then he'll be just fine
  5. So what's with the clearances? It's usually a strength???
  6. Is that a hope or a fact - ?

Wet. Slippery. Messy football kind of day. I'm not used to this "expecting to win" thing...

Agree 100%. I think the thing about that handball was the we mortals had a real clear view of the chaos. One moment he's in the pack, then Viney busts through and gives it to Clarry - who has seen TMac and bullets the handpass. I've looked at it dozens of times, I know the ending, but I still can believe he found TMac. Joy.
  9. Turns out it's taken from a pinterest post. Full post: " Pro-Athlete Diabetics cannot withstand head impacts as well as those who are non-diabetic because cells in diabetics cannot use glucose well and all tend to be deficient in magnesium. This makes them more sensitive to the effects of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate, which are released in massive amounts following a concussion. Supplemental Magnesium and a High DHA, higher-fat diet are huge to boost brain energy levels to protect against head injuries " So, until further evidence, it's bullsh$t
  10. I'd love a reference to the peer reviewed study/studies that "showed" this...
  11. Back to the thread... this bloke looks like a serious socks-down footballer. It's such a relief not see stick figures out there wearing the red-and-blue. Who knows how he'll go, but he's a chance
  12. The next minute he gets put in defense or something Not a star, but got caught in a period of "average player management", I reckon

Ah yes - I was playing cricket at St Kevin's that day - slow day in the outfield with Mick Taylor soaring above us!
