  1. I know Brayshaw had the fumbles, but I reckon he can play. Hope to hell he hasn't got concussion problems...
  2. I think Brayshaw can really play. Got another head knock though, bandaged. Really hope he gets a good run.
  3. Rather Pederson than Watts. Any day. Oh and I'm not sure having two captains is such a great idea. Whose going to stand up? Jones.
  4. So first half Carlton are flooding, and there no space for the kick into the 50. Now they're running both ways. They are running harder than we are and deserve to be ahead
  5. Hogan burns Brayshaw in the goal square then missed from 20m
  6. Carlton are running back really well. Very few "over the back"for us. And butchering unpressured disposal.
  7. Got to say, is going to take me a long while to be confident at the start of a game. All those memories of games being over at quarter time... Or earlier.
  8. Interesting to see Lewis "coaching" the mid field group fitting the warm up. Jones Viney Oliver etc listening intently
  9. Fast hands for a big guy. Very slick handball to Hannan to set up a goal - mad scramble in the goal square.
  10. Petracca is one of those high impact not enormous possesion number players
  11. Loose man in defense. We've never seen that before. Roo cutting us apart. Who would have thought. Being out run by St Kilda. So many surprises
  12. If i wantedto come to a third rate recorded music venue, i wound have gone to etihad. Oh... wait
  13. And how about they run onto the ground. Its not a fing concert. I remember when the umpires would run up the race.
  14. Saw this lightning handball in the warm up. Not a red head, so who t f is it? J Lewis Esq.
  15. Banner: "season 2017 begins now" ah yep. Its boiling here.. would be good to get a breeze, but the roof is closed of course. Pretty nervous.
  16. I think Gus and the Toump overlapped? I remember seeing Gus run on, and thinking "V8 running style" (low revs, covers the ground), and did compare him with Toump, who was a bit stiff with crook hips and didn't seem to cover the ground. Gus' kicking reminds me of D. Jarman - that kick in the last pre-season against carlton... left foot, bullet http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2017-02-25/jlt-rd-2-endtoend-brilliance Hope he stays injury free
  17. Mrs Frankie was under the weather, but received a leave pass, fired up the Frankie-mobile, got my passport stamped at Warrigal Rd, and wandered off to Casey fields. Some observations 1. Don't park in the Field - got bogged, drenched 2. All the players - both sides - unarguable commitment to the contest, not one shirked the issue. Would have put some of Melbourne AFL players to shame in our athletic-stick-figure phase 3. Each side had about 3 players with OK or better skills. Even before the rain, more that half of both teams were not up to scratch - not surprising - most of them are very good athletes, and brave, but not footballers. Most middle school teams would have more skill. 4. The deluge came. At 3/4 time out coaches came out with whiteboards etc, and each line coach was waving arms in the air, making meaningful zone/positions/advanced stuff movements. 5. What they needed was a coach saying "It's very wet, the ball is a piece of soap. Move the ball forward immediately you get to it. Don't look for the handball or the short kick. Keep your structure up forward and don't be sucked up the ground." 6. There was no such coach. 7. We got spanked. I will reserve my thoughts about Casey Fields for when I have emerged from hypothermia and the Frankie-mobile emerges from under its three in layer of mud. 8. We need a coach who will coach to our strength. We need better skills. Sigh.
  18. It's an interesting point. But we beat the Hawks... Not sure what that means for the game plan
  19. I'll stay to the end, but this is incredibly disappointing. I agree with the comments about outside speed, and we've been killed in the ruck. Hard not to be a bit worried
