  1. Really? She's been a club Director for 8 years so has a share of the ownership of the current status as much as anyone else. Failure is an orphan, success has many parents. She qualifies in the latter. Staying home to allow another, and most probably Pert, is a class decision on her part as Chair. Impressive. (Juxtaposed to Ed McGuire's attitude. I can hear his moaning already on tonights Footy Classified.) Pert as leader of the Mgt team, and reporting to the board must be in Perth. (as should be water-boy/ PR/media manager extrordinaire Ben Gibson. Great seeing him get around the team after a goal. They clearly appreciate his off field work too.
  2. They pay the bills. SEn and sportsbet etc. Of course Hutchy was going to be there. What value does he add to the event? - none.
  3. I look at it differently. Power will win no matter who they play as will the Dees. We get a hit out on the gf venue in the prelim. It may be a 1 or 2 % advantage for us in ground familiarity. Could be good.
  4. I suspect the Tribunal took into account missing a potential PF and GF. Not unreasonable, . In normal circumstances may have been 5 to 6 weeks mid season. Plus the cost to GWS and likely loss of potential captaincy.
  5. You have hinted at the next issue Jaded , surrounding GWS as a club. If they appeal, and don't cop it, it says something about their culture. Green is rightly gone, GWS next move will be the issue now. I suspect / hope Gil will pick up the blower to Tony Shepherd and say don't even think about it. And can posters and others(Luke Hodge) stop quoting the Lachie Neale decision. Two wrongs don't make a right.
  6. Like Tom Hawkins sorry he broke Steven May's eye socket. Spare me. I don't buy those apologies - especially for serial offenders. Having said this, ScoMo could take a leaf out of Toby's book
  7. Personally I reckon this thread is on here because we so comprehensively beat the Lions, had no apparent weakness (apart from a small forward alert that can be fixed), no injuries, possibly no changes, weeks rest in the sun, % AA's, AA skipper, Rising Start, under 22 reps, that this website needs something to discucss to pass the time productively. What a change from the old days. I like it. Amusing and entertaining. Keep it up Demonlanders and we'll get serious next Monday!
  8. Great Read FF. Iv'e never seen so much amusing fiction , since I read some James Bond Novels. However at least Barrett came up with the gem "...Clarkson and Kennett will come to blows..." But anyone could have tipped this come to think of it.
  9. I agree, but someone pass this only to Bailey Fritsch. although to give him credit he's improved somewhat from early in the season.
  10. I like it. And the overall season stat I like is that each week, 8 of the 9 winning teams had better accuracy, (kicking more goals than points) than the loser. Kick more gaols than points and 8 out of 9 chances sees a win. The finals this weekend panned out that way, unless it was a demolition job like Port and Dees delivered . Swans kick 2.7 in the last 1/4. Losing the unlosable. MY major worry that will kill our chances, unless we flat out swamp the oppositon with scoring chances like we did in the 2nd 1/4.
  11. And he has the aerobic capacity as good or better than Alir who must follow him. If Smith goes out he maintains some running and height for the team. Too good a footy IQ IMO, but will dpend on his back over next 2 weeks
  12. Excellent call on Hunt and the nature of the change. Hunt is good above his head as well as fast. I fear not having him on the big slightly longer but narrower Oval if he's fit enough. Kardinia is slightly longer by 5 (Meteres) but much narrower (by 15 metres). This will suit Hunts speed against the Cats say. He was key to the initial defensive strategy so should fit right back in. I fear for Smiths place. Again on Saturday he flew against May and Petty a few times, but thats not his role. Those guys have that covered. But he's more versatile than Hibberd. Bowey would be stiff, but like Tomlinson, Jordan and others he will have an excellent career with the Dees from 2022.
  13. My thoughts on a flag unfurling is a joint effort by which would compensate are: RDB, Neil Daniher and Jim Stynes Widow, Sam. First game at the G next year. I'm resigned to missing the GF now, but looking forward to the above in 2022. I know this is mozzing us but I can dream can't I?
  14. and when tackling, not a hair out of place with the best head of hair in the AFL.
  15. When you see it in real time and live, as I did watching the game, my immediate subconscious reaction - tha's a week out. All other angles and footage and commentary by the media is just spin. Its amazing how many in themedia/past player cohort just sit on the fence on this and don't do their media role objectively - as Nick reiwoldt does (a real media asset on Kayo IMO) On the Cats, I agree Lucifer with you that the cats can be rolled by us for sure in two weeks. Mainly because I just can't see our defence weakening in any area. My main conern going into finals was the GWS midfield. May now not eventuate
  16. Spago played 2018 finals series - and not too bad either. Ed Langdon was first finalist.
  17. And Razor put his hand out low and Gus responded from memory. Ray 'gets ' the game.
  18. Kane cornes correctly mentioned this morning that Ports small fowards will trouble us at ground level. I agree and think joel smith isn't yet a lock in defence for this reason. I would feel more secure if hunt can come back
  19. An AA bench. But smart of goody. May didn't like it but its a back handed compliment to one of our flag keys.
  20. WAS their best defender. He's no longer AA for a reason.
  21. TMac took their best defender out of the frame in Marcus Adams. Did his job and can improve.
  22. Great call. An earlier poster nailed it in 3 too - "high IQ player". You can't have too many of them I reckon.
