  1. He said as much when asked about tweaks and mods to turn the game around. I'm not divulging anything on that topic was his reply. Classy!
  2. I give Chris Scott credit for acknowledging the " strange" decisons at the end including Brayshaw's. He can't say anything more critical otherwise he gets fined for free speech by the AFL. But having said that there were 4 blatant frees to the Dees in the last 3 minutes not paid, incl holding the ball, in the back, and importantly the unpire warning danger to move out of Levers zone. He should have been paid a 2nd 50. Selwood did a deliberate also at that time not paid. Thos umpires I suspect can pack up their gear - season over on last nigth's performance from them.
  3. Sorry your right, I just felt this was the most unlikely scenario. They would need to beat the Cats in week 1. If not then they will never have a choice of ground for the Prelim. Anyone playing them from the Week 1 winners will opt for Gabba or Optus I would have thought.
  4. Absolutely they will. My son and i went to the Dees vs Port game in Adelaide in 1998. Dees won kicking 13 goals to 7 after 1/4 time and putting us into the 8 in Danihers first season. My son wore his Dees jumper at the airport going home that afternoon and was asked by multiple Adelaide residents who won and were rapt when he told them the Dees had. Adelaide truly hate Port. It will be a help for us in this scenario. Probaly even be happy for ex- favourite son Jake Lever.
  5. And I don't care what anyone says, Port are the worst 2nd place team in many seasons. And last night 1 goal in a half against one of the poorer defences. Cats (although without Stewart is a complication), Lions and Dees will deal with them.
  6. Don't agree. Our biggest threat is meeting Port in a knockout final in Adelaise. That most likely dissappearde as a scenario last night no matter what happens.
  7. Sesnsible summary I reckpm NS. I am also looking at the positive from last night and that is if we lose tonight we play Port in Week 1, then importantly not again unless we both make the GF. Any prelim we make WILL not be against Port at their home ground. The same applies if we win tonight. We won't then meet Port in a prelim at Adelaide. We will get the option of ground selection We will overall avoid the only team with a huge home ground opportunity until a GF and that will be in Perth anyway.
  8. Port with a single goal in a half. Pretenders or what?
  9. I note that his cousin was H.C.A. Harrison. Rememeber the good old days when the players had to front up at Harrison House for the tribunal. It was hilarious then too. What are the odds of a venue for the Tribuanal/MRP being named "Christian House." Pretty long I would have thought.
  10. Bowey looks like (watching his interview) that he belongs at home with his Mum he's so young. But he seems , so far, to look 10 years older on the field in terms of thinking ability, execution, eacts under pressure. Reminds me of James Jordan, who looked from Game 1 against Freo that he can handle the big time and belonged. I hope he gets back in too.
  11. Hibberd not as good in the air as Smith - one of Roham's strengths. Maybe even in the team to allow bench time for May or Petty.
  12. I think Smith did well last week and has been recognised by the match cttee that maybe we get some more game time into him, deservedly, as back up material for the finals.
  13. Despite all the debate about the team selection this week, if Dogs win then nothing is on the line. Do a reasonable hit out but it will be dereliction of duty to play NQR key players and have them sore for the first final. I know that covers about 3/4 of the team but we have never had this opportunity to game the system as others have and we should use it. If Dogs lose then the reverse is true. Go for broke and hope the gods are smiling on May, Lever, Oliver,Petracca,Salem, Gawn,................................................................................................................................... My order of importance to winnning a flag above.
  14. Agreed. We all need to be Dogs supporters big time on Friday. Then in the words of the inimitable Mitch Robinson, we play bruise-free footy on Saturday. Interestingly, Goodys demeanour is that we want to win any game , which I agree with in my head. But gee, just give Maxy 75% game time, and rest Salem .
  15. Personally I reckon Rivers is right up there with him, and after a few more seasons withMAY and Lever will be THE defender in the AFL.
  16. He has football brain and thats not nothing. Helps out in defence many times over the season and still one of our best in one-on-ones overhead.. A keeper IMO
  17. This is why I think Bowey has made such an impression. He has lots of qualities that Sparrow has, who I think is a great tackler, but Bowey is a excellent disposer of the ball and that quality stands out against many others in the team.
  18. Kayo also reported in this this afternoon at 1/2 time via John Ralph.
  19. Agree on Melksham. He's shown enough since back and a proven goalkicker.
  20. Johnny Ralph agreed with your comments, except he said the tackle was late and ball was not in vicinity. Subbed out with concussion then means weeks.
  21. Great forwrad planning by coaching staff w.r.t game time for key palyers. Max played least ground time for the year I suspect with only 78%. Similar lower numbers fro Oliver and Petracca. The only high TOG were ther ususal suspects of Lever (only player with 100% on the ground), Langdon and Petty.
  22. Just said Hawkins will be suspened and cats will take to tribunal. He thinks it was late and will get a werk. And he shows Round 23 cats vs dees now at mcg. May be a typo ..........
  23. Its why petracca has passed him. Trac was a sho ker too and did something about it Clarry a brilliant engine room player though. Just dont kick inside 50.
  24. Melksham sure has more upside than Bailey
