  2. melbournes game plan is - defensively based, which i think is the key to granfinal success. (frawley, rivers, garland, grimes, bartram) - not based upon one goal kicker, which is also key to grandfinal succes (future, jurrah, dunn, watts, aussie, bennell, and midfielders, even garland, morton and grimes sneak a cheeky goal) - based on hard running, (bail, tom scully, trengove, will be important links) - accurate disposal, but i think it is based more upon kicking accuracy than handball running,(which is why grimes and garland will play a massive role coming out of our backline, same with morton possibly) your write up was pretty accurate :D
  3. i disagree.... i think tapscott will be a midfield forward, not a small quick running defender? edit: didnt read the rest of the posts, as i was amused by this one, i can see where you are coming from, but it will not happen, strauss, maybe able to eventually force bartram to a midfield tagger, but i do not think tapscott has the speed that is recquired to match up on the small forwards nowdys.
  4. tapscott, then fitzpatrick tapscott is going to be a genuine freak if fitzpatrick agile as anything, good dukes, could be important as we will need a ruckman goalscorer and i think this is our most likely option.
  5. well, apologies, but how do we know melbourne had zero contact with him? none the less, its not the kind of player we need, so i am happy if we dont attempt to lure any similar players
  6. well now, heres hoping if that is the kind of player wew are looking for we have a crack at alwyn davey
  7. without game time he will not be able to keep his spot, big pre season, and a few good matches for casey early and he may be able to thrust his name into the 22, without early games, (as much as it pains me to say)it will likely be that next season would be his last in the red and blue
  8. looks like we shall have an active trade week, i just hope we dont give off any picks, for players such as hale, or hinkley
  9. presser just released, watching it on 513, see ya ablettt
  10. yeh, really erratic, i posted a youtube highlights and he rarely hits the targets, he is quicker than bartram though
  11. i seriously like the idea that he breaks the lines and breaks tackles, but it has been dodged he cannot kick, bartram has a better disposal than him and everyone hates bartrams disposal
  12. well this will be interesting, coz if we take hale aswell which has been rumored we are chasing hard, how many spots will we have on our list? especially with the elevation of jordie
  13. i like the collar look, adds a bit of the old school theme, just hope the colours come out well
  14. a lower number could also be given to our first draft pick so what ill sit on is that 7 to bail 17 to first draft pick 21 to blease 23 to have a rest this season
  15. i like this, choco williams or laidley aswell, i like the idea of a more experienced helper, because they shall bring a bit more to the table i feel, although woewodin could be a good fit, todd viney would be the best, but stiff chances, same with milburn.
  16. moves really well, rubbish disposal could do alot worse i guess, would have rathered if we got onto alwyn davey if this was the player we were after http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMkPy-95YKE
  17. i like it but stiff chances
  18. well i think he played a big part in the zone that won hawthorn the grandfinal, and im pretty sure hes a darn good coach, definately a gooood replacement, and then it would help get young jack along to the club so thats a positive haha
  19. hopefully try poach todd viney
  20. ohhhh yeh, thats okay then, thanks
  21. where did you hear this? i think maric could havfe a break out season next year, and he is still under contract.
  22. im stoked with how he came on, with another massive pre season and if he can stay fit, he is a definate best and fairest chance even a brownlow chance if we start to contend for finals, he often plays well when we win, but when we lose he plays poorly, so hopefully he can have a completely consistent season. im stoked with how he is coming on, seeing as i wrote him off as a poor choice, if he has 5-6 good years he will have been a solid pick i feel.
  23. cons: -the main problem is he will be 30 at the start of next year -obvious negative influence -if he screws up its a waste pros: -could really help the team win a grandfinal -possible 70 goal a season for the next 3 years -provide a step ladder for jurrah could see why we would, could see why we wouldnt
  24. i think jack watts is going to be a great player, the one thing he has that i am suprised about is quality of disposal, he uses the ball pretty well, and his kicking for goal more often than not is really good. i had a chat with him at the best and fairest and i he told me he loses around 3 kilos every match, so its hard to keep the weight up, but in 2-3 years he will definately imo be a ripper player. i hope next season we see him crash a few packs with a strong attack on the ball, because his biggest problem is he seems to slow down when body contact is going to occur.
