i think we will definitely love a player like cross on our list, it would give us much needed midfield leadership cost us nothing and could be groomed as an assistant coach (gws model) he is nothing like rodan, different players, different abilities, different skills, very different people! I never really agreed with the inclusion of rodan as i feel like he was past his time but cross could play 2-3 more years i think i would think if we could bring in daisy and someone else from collingwood with pick 2 and cross in our midfield, it will definitely improve our list.

i was trying to work out a trade in my head for both st kilda and western bulldogs and it is near impossible pick 1 with st kilda for armitage or jack steven but no way they would give them up? pick 1 with bulldogs for i have no idea, that would suit both clubs that is.

Brett Ratten Michael Voss Matthew Primus Jade Rawlings Paul Williams Cameron Ling James McDonald They are my list any one of them will do me just fine as a successor. First group would be my top priority as i feel they didnt even do that poorer job and really are unlcuky to have lost their job, all worked hard at afl level and could easily walk into the role after roos. second group relatively untried, but would be good! My ideal coaching group would have Voss or Ratten as the head assistant Cameron ling and James Mcdonald as inclusions into our coaching ranks

the best way i could see this working is if we are going to trade pick 2 to adelaide, then we would be getting sloane and another 1 and maybe a late draft pick. so i imagine something like sloane and mckernan (who wants to leave) and pick 30 something. we offload pick 30 something and mckernan to a club like carlton or someone who wants a forward and get a mid/forward off them? or the real best option will be trading pick 2 for dale thomas, who if he decides he wants to leave would be an amazing option to trade for, which would mean we could draft daniel cross and that would be helpful also

1) Thank goodness we can steal something out of the season 2) suck a d brisbane 3) 2 years is awesome, long enough for him to instill his values on the club, and encourage the development of another coach! I really hope he can bring across Cameron Ling, Paul Williams, Michael Voss and even James McDonald, we would have several options to choose from to take over from roosy if he feels like a short term contract is all he wants

yarran will be offered as trade bait at the end of the season, and tom bell is a very very average football player, and really we have midfielders that would play ahead of him! the idea of a trade is to strengthen our team, and by trading watts out i seriously doubt we will be able to get a trade that will strengthen our team. Watts could well become one of the most adaptable players in our team not to mention is our best kick between 30-50 m when making a pass. would not trade him, freo is the only serious option and it would be a serious midifielder who we would want to take off them!

Realistically where I see the playing list
Mad_Melbourne replied to Parma's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fitzy on the wing is a little bit of a leap I reckon, but having 3 tall forwards in Clark, Dawes and hogan, resting ruck in Fitzpatrick, and watts playing as a small forward could work! Having said that I would rather have the problem of having one too many forward options than lack of them! -

I feel like you have clear favourites, and are a bit harsh on some players! But as you said it is your opinion and I couldn't be bothered going through every player as you did. So well done -
I agree that playing one or two games is good exposure, I was just a bit brief, the fact that Sydney have the ability to take time with their players is a blessing we do not have as of yet, especially through the midfield. I also think that having players like Mitch clark, Chris Dawes and even jack watts have been able to provide fitzy with a great base to learn from and improve from, this coincides with your midfield point on blease. Although I think Sylvia, especially of late has been an example through the midfield, we finally have solid leaders through this area trengove, grimes and jones now set the example for work ethic on the field and hopefully this will show in the younger boys. I think rodans work on the inside is a bit better than blease, and Kent is providing a good contest and defensive pressure aswell!

It shows what playing enough time in the vfl before making your afl debut can do to a player! He played consistently in the vfl, and developed over three years, and he is now showing positive signs in the afl. I wish we could do this with more players, Tom Mitchell from Sydney comes to mind, if that would have been possible for a player like Morton maybe his career would have been different

Yes : premiership experience, 4 years, outside run/quick wing type that we desperately need! No: butchers the pill, one way player, soft and a general [censored]
-
you are just trying to try and get a response Dunn was definitely at an afl level, and played almost his best game for the year.
-
I think he did one or two good things, but he also butchered the pill. The the fact the commentators were all over him made his game appear better than it actually was.
-
i dont agree with this as much, i think that a fully fit mitch clark could play the second ruck role very effectively, but i agree no dawes in the ruck. i agree that fitzy is more for the future of second ruck, but i think sellar and pederson should not be ahead of clark
-
injury cover, depth players are a necessity to any list, and depth players who can push up and play at afl level are even better. in a few years time if we have a fully fit side and everyone on the park our forward half will be incredibly dangerous if our midfield can improve like it should!
-
he also adds leadership and premiership experience which he is able to share with the youngsters, because all clubs do need the mix of older players who are good leaders aswell as young players

If Spencer gets more weeks than Simpkin then.....
Mad_Melbourne replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
because the problem with the challenge would mean if it failed it would be 4 weeks and there was going to be no significant decrease on the charge anyway. it was not a pissweak stance, it was just stupid that spencer didnt go for the ball, it is not all considered the same thing, but the damage that spencer caused and the possible damage he could have caused is far worse than what simpkins little love tap could have done. if a melbourne player puts their head over the ball, and an opposition player ellects to not go for the ball, holds his ground and turns side on would you be impressed? -

Mad_Melbourne replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
i would agree with that, but as they said on the review show, he chose to not go for the ball and there was no circumstances out of his control other that the fact he is a little bit uncoordinated. he shouldnt get 3 weeks considering some of the other hits that have caused injury and although unintentional those kind of bumps are the dangerous ones, but i doubt we can get muchchanged with the appeal. I personally dont understand the mrp, but if we did appeal what would we be looking to change (other than weeks reported)? is there a classification that could well lower the weeks -

no real point to challenge it, although i think the ruling is a crap one, i think it is much similar to the trengove sling tackle and the afl wanting to make a stand on it. our challenge would be against the severity of the incident, mcevoy didnt play for the rest of the game, so severity was quite high. or about what else he could have done, when he decided to not go for the football he lost his leg to stand on. is it as bad as punching a bloke no, but at the end of the day i dont think challenging will be able to get spence off, but rather he will be looking at 4 weeks -

the vfl report said that they took Maxy gawn off at 3/4 time incase he was needed for next week, he had already won 32 hit outs -
once he can cut out his 2-3 blatant opposition goal assists he will be a real asset. needs to be a little bit more defensively aware of his opponents at time, but definitely a shining light
-
its nothing to do with a run up, its more about balance when kicking, ball drop, leg swing and timing when kicking, the run up is just something players need in order to build momentum, he could walk backwards for all i care, but if the ball drop is right then it will work. i think hogan has a bit of an issue with timing the football onto his boot, from a bit of a high ball drop i think, but have not seen enough of him to make a clear decision
-
and i am sure you do the opposite

hahaha, i think you are hilarious, i really enjoy seeing you type in the stupidest things you can think of in order to get a rise out of posters. I always have a quick read and think to myself about the remote possibility that your posts are serious and how this would reflect upon your every day life, i would really enjoy having a conversation with you in person and seeing if you actually are taking the [censored] or the stupidest person i have encountered
