  1. Oh thank god! I thought you were someone else
  2. I agee Robbief see my comment above.
  3. Well just as well I messed up. Could not see a TAB meeting for Newcastle and assumed Belmont was the belmont near Newcastle. But of course it was Belmont WA. Guess who is a dill!
  4. I am sure you are correct redleg I have been saving for most of the season that it is our more snior players that have let the side down. The kids are probably doing as well as expected at this point. I also agree with your earlier comment I am enjoying this year a lot less than 8-09. Cook also worries me not sure what is going on there, I am not buyong it is a long season for a young guy. You normally have to hold them back, young guys are usually busting to play. eg last year when we had to rest you know who and Trengove half way through the season in spite of them thinking they were ok. I doubt I have looked forward to the end of a season more than this year. Baby sitting tonight, I can forget the bloody MFC for a few hours.
  5. Could not see it in the fields at Belmont RL was it scratched?
  6. It was only $10 doubt I will have to sell the house.
  7. Redleg 4th at Geelong today. Did my dough, what happened ? Looking for a better result tomorrow!
  8. You know what Redleg I agree with him. I wish GWS would just [censored] off. Thank god for Eddie as we are so beholding to the AFl we cannot say a word of complaint. I am glad someone can
  9. This does not surprise me if true. I was thinking this might happen once the dust settles in November.
  10. Ok mum is the word. When is you know who in next.
  11. I think his best one was "don't get where the ball aint" Says it all for me.
  12. Remindes me of that old saying about a stopped watch. At least it tells the right time twice a day. An inaccurate one never has the right time. When is the next one running just give me the nod. No one else will know ! I promise.
  13. You are probably right and what would I do on winter weekends any way. Right now I would be happy just to find the bloody glass
  14. On reflection Deeoldfart The problem is loosing! I have written below elsewhere. I think this covers it. I am over 5 years of losing, Big Losses, small losses, record losses Losses to the likes of Richmond.losses to Bloody Collingwood Losses at ES, losses in Perth, Losses in Adelaide. I am over Losses! I do not care who the coach is or how we play. I just want to WIN. End of story
  15. Good morning DF I think that 40 years of the same old stuff has finally worn me down. I have decided to go on sunday to what may very well be my last match. A loss to the GC will be the end for me I think. It is just too bloody hard supporting this club. There is no longer enough single malt or red on the planet to dull the pain. Carn The Dees
  16. It is hard to argue with that. Perhaps we are just masochists at heart
  17. My god Redleg we are getting desperate for reasons to go!
  18. I don't think I will make it to next sunday the prospect of going down to the GC is too horrible to contemplate. But sunday is 6 days away!
  19. Last night I returned home a very sad fan. Another year has come to end again with a whimper. Like so many previous years I started with enthusiasm and expected a reasonable improving performance on the previous year. After some improved performances and a good draw I thought 2011 may get us very close to eighth spot. But alas the all too often "Melbourne season" unfolded. Poor results and numerous beltings followed by the coach being sacked and then problems in the administration. Once again the season ends with my club being the butt of jokes about "no bruise " football and down hill skiers etc. The end of this misery looks no closer than the majority of the last 47 years. I ask myself why do I go on? I have no idea what the answer is. I am too old to end my affair with the MFC but I am getting weaker. Normally there is always next year but right now I am struggling with this concept. What if this is my lot? What if this is the best it gets at the MFC? God I hope not but may be it is? Perhaps the "Storm" is the solution. They seem to be every thing that the MFC is not!
  20. Me too redleg started the day with crumpets and honey The chocolate cake for morning tea was followed by a Pastie for lunch. Now pork belly for dinner. But I having a low cal beer now.
  21. If it reduces the Hawthorn Coffers it will be a good result for me. Do not believe he will seriously consider leaving Hawthorn. Would you?
  22. Now Redleg for a person of your experience you surprise me. Surely you know that the "media" is insatiable. They have every day pages to fill, tv programs to fill 24 hour radio stations devoted to sport to fill. So 80% of what we get is a small amount of information to which guess work is added. On rare occasions they guess right. The rest is BS
