  1. I have asked this question before and no one has ever replied so here goes again. If my memory is correct Warnock was originally drafted as a forward. He has size,is tough, is a good mark and a reasonable kick inside 50 metres. other than one quarter vs the tigers( when we were trying to lose ) I have never seen him played as a forward. Why ? Seems to me he has what we need! Does he dislike playing as a forward? Do the coaches think he is backman period? I have been amazed that he is never tried in the forward line.
  2. Heard this subject discussed on SEN this morning. two interesting items. Collingwood have agreed that their game vs North will be a North home game if North play in their clash strip. Result North earn $300000 + to wear their clash strip. The AFL believes that to sell the game outside the traditional states i.e. NSW,QLD and Overseas it looks a lot better on TV if one side wears a dramatically different strip ( white is the best ). The clubs have basically agreed that in the interests of expanding the revenue from selling the rights they will play in a white clash strip. So that is why clubs are not challenging the league decisions on who wears what and when. I know you will all say I have given up but I think the war is well and truely lost. Lets make the best of it, what is the best white jumper with red and blue trim? Just had thought there are only three teams where I would have thought the problem would arise in a GF. Essendon St Kilda Carlton So in the next two to three years if we made it what are the chances of the above being our opponents? Essendon low chance St kilda maybe but they will probably be on the wane in 3 years time Carlton best chance in my opinion So we need to finish above Carlton!
  3. Fork em it is 46 years since we won that is a fairly large window! What strip we play in at our next GF is running a bad second for me as well. Just win the bloody thing.
  4. You have my vote "rpfc" I will happily go in 2012 to see them win in the clash jumper. I will be there in red and blue!
  5. That about covers it, IMO he will only survive if Spencer gets the chop. It will I think come down to which one we keep while waiting for Gawn and Fitz to mature.
  6. Daisycutter I do not consider you and others are Zealots. I just think we get more excited than most clubs. I went onto a couple of St Kilda sites this afternoon and could not find any comment about playing in the clash strip. I think we have lost because the vast majority have excepted the "new order" Good luck with your projects!
  7. The only club that would do what you want is collingwood but the AFL will not bring on that fight. The only other club that might do it is Carlton but I doubt it after the AFL looked the other way on Visy and CJ. If St Kilda rolls over after what I consider a good case I am afraid all is lost!
  8. The problem you face trying to get another clash strip up is the AFL wants all teams to have a predominantly white clash strip. From their position that is the end of the story. You can have any clash strip colour as long as it is white. sort of Fordian!
  9. I agree with you, there was IMO a bigger clash on Friday night than there will be on Saturday. I know you have not rolled over! I just struggle with how you are going to change things when our club has rolled over. As well as the 90% of the other clubs. Do you propose we sack the MFC board ( that has just ellimated $5 million debt ) to get one that takes us out of the league because won't play in a white clash strip!
  10. I can only imagine how that will frighten them. A MFC supporter demanding things be changed. Besides words how do you intend to get them to change their minds? Hit them with a wet tram ticket? Threaten them with going to the "A league" of "NRL" instead. They Know that we will both go to the GF if Melbourne are playing in pink with purple polka Dots.
  11. Daisycutter I cannot believe it a small concession " not totally against a clash strip" Mate when we are playing in the GF in 2012 You will not be worrying about the jumper colour. But Remember this old bloke told you the AFL will have their way White "away" jumpers will be the excepted system by 2012.
  12. I will not hold my breath waiting for the Pies to role over. In the mean time the hand ringing will continue. There are many thousands of words to be written yet!
  13. Spot on Warren I have been arguing this for years with Collingwood fans. Their jumper has changed, to say they are not playing in any thing else is Eddie spin because it is substantially different and guess who changed it? Collingwood! not the AFL. If ever a team should play in a white clash jumper it is collingwood!
  14. I do not think it would matter to the AFL if one side wore flashing lights on their shorts. IMO the term "clash jumper" is the short term discription for what they really want which is an "away strip" Their ultimate objective is to have all teams wear a "white" jumper when they are the away team. E.G. Basketball and a number of competitions overseas. Don't understand the need but it seems to be a determined effort IMO by the AFL.
  15. I cannot see one! But the AFL can. Who at the AFL decides? Does anyone know?
  16. Except that it appears all sides except Collingwood are rolling over. I firmly believe if we were playing Essendon on Saturday our management would be doing the same as the saints. Sad but IMO true.
  17. Thanks for that, so 2011 will be his fourth season. You would expect him to part of the back bone of the team next year!
  18. I agree, actually think he is a better kick than Scully. I am not worried he ran out of puff as the season progressed. 22 games is a long time for a first year recruit. I expect he will have a great 2011.
  19. Can't remember, was 2010 his second or third season? We need him to be a top ten player in 2011. I like the way he moves.
  20. Hi "Daisycutter" we have been on this subject a few times! Just heard St kilda on the radio and they seem to be just rolling over without a fight. Made a comment like " the AFL have a hard job and have to make tough decisions on the competitions behalf". You have to wonder why the saints did not put up a fight? They have 40000+ members and money in the bank! Why do the clubs seem resigned to "Clash Jumpers"? Who at the AFL decided that these teams clash and one of them needs to wear a white jumper i.e. St.kilda? What would happen if North finished on top and they were playing Collingwood tomorrow? North in a clash jumper? Now wait for it "Daisycutter" Collingwood has a basic white clash jumper or no one does! I can dream I suppose. IMO the subject is now officially lost. Dees in a white jumper in the GF is the future!
  21. Could not agree more! Unfortunately I fear he has the type of build that does not add weight. I fear that may be his career problem.
  22. Unfortunately Pies by 5 goals. They have been the best team by a fair margin all year, only had trouble with one team and they are not playing the DEES! Didak for the NS
  23. I have been involved in this subject on a number of occasions and try as I might I could not let this one go past. First let me say I DO NOT WANT THE DEES TO PLAY IN A CLASH / AWAY STRIP! It is beyond belief that St. Kilda is being force to wear a clash jumper on Saturday. For the life of me I struggle to see a clash with this game, I think it was more of clash last friday but Geelong wore their normal jumper. I know why individual teams ( MFC ) roll over on the clash jumper but surely it is time for a bit of unionism by the other 14 clubs. Every team should contact the Saints and say play in your normal jumper and we will contribute to the fine. Now that will not happen and the saints will play in the white clash jumper. If they win the subject will be lost for all time. I fear it is lost anyway so we need to finish on top! Otherwise we will be playing in our clash strip However I would like to have the problem in 2011!
  24. From my previous post on another thread. Are we seeing the end of the Geelong Dynasty? I think so, amazing how a year effects players quite a few are now looking a little slow. I have thought the cracks were starting to appear this year and last night we saw the Grand Canyon! If Gazza heads north they are gone. He had 40 disposals last night, without him the margin would have been double. I have watched the great white hope ( Hawkins )at Geelong the last two years. Sorry to say he is at best an average player. Just goes to prove a very good under age player and high draft pick ( I know he was farther and Son ) does not guarantee a very good senior player. 1 kick last night. I have thought for some time he was being made to look better than he was by playing for Geelong. Every week his return is modest in a team that gives its forward line a lot of well directed enteries. Would be playing for Coburg if he was at Richmond! I can feel a win at Geelong coming up in 2011! They will be a good side next year still inside the eight but the flag is now a fading memory for Geelong.
  25. I hate Collingwood go the Saints ( they will win easy tonight ) Are we seeing the end of the Geelong Dynasty?
