It does not say much for your ability when you are subbed off against the two sides that finished second and third last in 2011. Not much light in that tunnel
-
And what is it with the grey army shorts. Did the AFl get a cut price from the disposals store
-
No Redleg but I reckon they might be ok in the forward line
-
I can only imagine what it will feel like this time next week DC As strange as it sounds there were times yesterday when I would have happily gone back to the DB game plan.
-
You know the one about your uncle and aunty
-
I would love to be able to Redleg but alas nothing more can be said.

Yes winning the B&F at the MFC in 2011 is not much of a rap.

Well the first tragedy of 2012 is now almost 24 hours ago And there has been an explosion on new threads so I thought I would put my thoughts on this one. Not sure if it fits but here goes. I ask myself what has changed in the last 48 years? For the majority of that time not a lot. Here we are after game 1 of 2012 with a bad loss to a bottom four side from last year. A list of average players at best. A new coaching panel ( how many of those have there been over that 48 year period ) A game plan that I have no idea how it is meant to work, I doubt the players do either. A depresseing year awaits me. With the prospect of another rebuild. "Hang in there fellers we will get there" is again the cry. So as I said not a lot has changed. But there is one big change for me. I AM ALMOST WORN OUT BY THE MFC I have had it with the 40 medicore years of the last 48. I no longer want to wander off to the G with hope in my heart and then wander home with the same sick in the guts feeling that once again I am supporting a team of modest performers who tear my guts out. Once again I will be the butt of jokes from other club supporters. What has faithful support for 48 years got me! 8 years of joy and 40 years of misery. I have a solution to save my sanity. I have put away my new maroon and blue scarf, I have placed my members card at the back of the draw. I have taken the stickers off my car. I will return to the MCG when the MFC shows they deserve my support. Until then ( if I live long enough ) I will be an anonymous citzen in the fabric of Melbourne. Away from the scorn of the general football world. no more "carn the dees" Put up MFC and I will show up

Aint that the truth.

Business as usual for the Blues 7 goal winners over the Tigers. The more things change the more they stay the same

Then DD we are in total agreement on Bennell. -
Sydney vs the crows does not count there was nothing else to show. And the crows probably have more members / supporters than the Dees and Brisbane. AS well as that the SA supporters are nuts they probably watch the game mutiply time as they think the result might change.

This is getting way off the thread DC but if you raised this subject with my father he would go right off. His experienced was that the vast majority of bad people he met in the army where bad soldiers The first to go Awol, last out the trench and almost always let you down and put your life at risk. It did not improve them as people. I can hear him right now. " why inflict these idoits on good soldiers and put there lives at risk, the spot for them is Jail"
-
I would think that it is appropriate. TV works on ratin,g that is who will watch. Neither us or the Lions have big followings. I would not be surprised if the 4th replay of Carlton and Richmond rates better than the first replay of the Dees. We simply do not have the followers to watch. If we win 7 out of the first 10 it might be different.

DD I am surprised you are surprised. From what I read and saw Bennell continued his form from the majority of 2011. 4 or 5 posessions a game hardly justifies his spot. He has played 51 games and he would have been lucky to put in 10 good games in that period. IMO only a number of injuries will see him back any time soon. -

My guess on those options is 25 a winning margin of 5 points

Not sure what you had for lunch Jackie but I cannot work out what you are trying to tell us. Perhaps it is what I did not have! -
I was not suggesting you was getting abused HT but you seems to be holding up one side of the discussion on your own. As you probably noticed I am pretty much flattened by the subject. I do not know what can be down, it depresses the crap out of me as the only thing that seems to change is the size of the problem. PS Is "Flattened" a word

You are right but for whatever reason we have been able to handle them after their glory days had passed. -
Gee I bet you are glad you raised this one HT! people are falling out of the sky on you. The footy starts in 2 days so something else to talk about.
