I get the feeling Howe copped a bit of shock when he saw Melbournes initial offer. The truth hurts, and it must've have hurt to see what you're really worth instead of what you think you're worth.
-
Umm lay a tackle? Man up? Spoil? Anything? This club is hopeless. Trengove actually had the nerve to have a swipe at fans who have a go at players. Said something along the lines of we don't know what it's like out there. Maybe if you didn't play like such an insipid bunch of pricks we wouldn't be so upset. Seriously, wake the [censored] up and have a [censored] crack you ass holes

Is Jones captain material? I think he is. But what's the difference? Nobody else is anywhere near being considered captain material at the moment.
-
Jones getting stuck into Pendlebury just minutes after the hit he copped from VandenBerg was a bit of a statement and just about the most ruthless thing I've seen from a Melbourne player in a long time. Loved it. More please.

Bail is not a good player
-
Sack the coach!!
-
If that last quarter alone is what we're going by, then the baulk of the team will be at casey next week.
-
Yeh something like that. Except I'd probably keep Toumpas in. At least he seems to be improving.
-
Nah you're wrong. I wish you were right, but unfortunately bail will play again. He just won't go away.

GAME DAY at Alice Springs - Round 9
Juicebox replied to Henrietta Lumbago's topic in Melbourne Demons
I suppose we should go easy on Howe. After all, he did pull a hammy in November... -
I wasn't saying Dawes is an automatic selection. In fact I think the best thing for him to do at the moment is to go back to casey and start kicking some goals. Point I was making is that Dawes is capable of being more than depth.
-
I disagree DD. Dawes has the runs on the board in that he's a premiership player. There was a time when he was playing some really good footy. I mean, let's not forget how ecstatic the majority here on DL were when we recruited him. Yes his form has not been great and hasn't been for some time now. But I just think he's got more to offer the team than just depth. Until he recaptures that form, Pedersen has proven to be an adequate replacement.

Interesting point. One of ports biggest strengths has been their ball movement off half back. Once they get that part their game going they're almost impossible to stop. So with that in mind I'm kind of torn over the idea of dropping jones and bail. As underwhelming as they are to watch and as I much as I want to see Viney and Jetta back, these are two guys who just successfully played a type of role on the weekend that could go a long way in helping us get a win over port.

God it's tough to watch this team work so hard trying to find a bit of belief and confidence, only to lose it all in the blink of an eye.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5
Juicebox replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well at least it's pretty obvious that his opportunities will be limited. Here's hoping he makes the most of whatever chance he gets. -
Walsh said something very closely along the lines of: "back in my day, a player doing what vince was doing would've left the field on a stretcher." I quite like Walsh though. He's anything but boring. But today's comments regarding the vince tag was lame

Adelaide v Melbourne POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 3
Juicebox replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
You'd drop watts on today's form, but given how soft Richmond are, conditions might suit him. -
Newton is lethal from 50!
-
Nathan jones has been nothing short of disgraceful. Captain must stand up. Today he has not.
-
I was being sarcastic. I am firmly in the same camp as you regarding Gawn. I think there's a fair few here on demonland that need to be a bit more patient with the big fella.
-
Come on Clint, he's a 23 year old, 208cm ruckman who has had some pretty serious injuries throughout his career. There is no excuse for his performance Thursday night...
-
Both? I see him as a threat at either end of the ground. Would add an element of unpredictability to our line up.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL WHITE
Juicebox replied to The Red Fox's topic in Melbourne Demons
From "The Prince" to Mitch White, I am genuinely excited by every one of our recruits. That is a first.
