Maric. Would be a very, VERY handy player if he can find some form and become a regular in the side. Has been talked up (lately anyway) and written off, but he reads the game well and has a reputation for being a good user of the ball. Personally I get the impression that he's very much a 'confidence' player, and hope that the solid form over the pre-season translates into good form throughout the H&A season.

To say this whole ordeal must be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later, is an understatement. Not fair on Tom, the club and the supporters.

What a joke. Firstly, should of been our home game because not only did we play in Adelaide last week, but also on points/percentage. The fact the AFL actually asked us to wear our white strip is a clear example of Essendon's inability to produce an adequate clash strip. Everyone knows a clubs true and traditional jumper, so it really does suck when they try and use history and tradition as an excuse. No one club is bigger than the game itself.

1. The Bruce/McDonald departure is going to have a bigger effect than what I thought. We're still very, VERY raw. 2. Our forward line, is quickly starting to look like the most effective area. (Kudos to Maric. Already showing a lot of improvement and looks confident.) 3. It's only February...

Jamar is currently the 2nd best ruckman going round. In my opinion anyway... But I still wouldn't pick him in 'supercoach'. Such a high price tag that I'm not willing to go for. After all, he really has had only one good season. His AA selection is a good enough representation of the respect the footy community has for him.

Good to hear. Though despite the criticism of the red/pink on the jumper, I have to say the sharper "V" and the collar looks great. I don't if it's the new design or the AAMI park gym facilities, but the players just look a lot more broader around the shoulders and upper body. Also Cam mentioned on twitter that the players are gunna sing the 2nd verse of the song after games. Big thumbs up if they follow through with that.

Sylvia once upon a time had been one of the 'whipping boys', not because he was a dud but because he had the talent and it we weren't seeing it on a weekly basis. Morton, Bate and Watts are all in a similar boat. We know what they are capable of, but we just want to see them reach their potential overnight. Unfortunately that just doesn't happen and in the mean time we'll wait, impatiently albeit, until they do hopefully become a more than solid contributor at AFL level.

In Beamers defense, it did sound like he copped a fair whack to the head, so I can understand the frustration. However spitting in the direction of a team-mate, if true, is disgusting. You sometimes see/hear of players having a bit of push and shove on the track, but to spit in the direction of Davis is extremely disrespectful.

Agreed. Usually all the logo's (AFL, Sponsor) can fit fairly comfortably inside the red area. Doesn't seem to be the case with the new jumper. Probably not a big deal and I've got too much time on my hands to think about it, so yeh...

For me it's just an initial reaction to the name "Giants" that seems "American". The only way they can, I guess, change that perception is just over time and creating their own identity. At least with Gold Coast, the city itself is known for its sunshine lifestyle, hence the name.

Summed it up perfectly mate. I'm happy to see the game grow but surely there are other ways to build an AFL quality side. "Greater Western Sydney Giants" is a mouthful and "Giants" is completely uninspiring and unoriginal. I do like the colours, or rather, I like the colours MORE than Gold Coasts. The West Tigers wear orange and black in the NRL, and it should appeal to the supporters. The "G" on the front of the jumper would look better if it actually looked like a letter, but maybe that's just me and my poor eye sight...

I think I may have read somewhere that we offered Bruce around 300K a year. (I stand to be corrected) So we have the money to play around with, but Neagle is not the answer. Complete spud and is most likely going to be re-drafted by the bombers if anything. Big Jack did kick a big bag in '09, but Collingwoods midfield - I hate to say it - can make almost any tall forward look good. We have enough 'lead up' type forwards already, what we need is a strong bodied player, who can can make a contest and pinch hit in the ruck.

Bruce was apparantly unhappy with the way Jnr was ushered off the list, yet he missed how many weeks with that hamstring injury? Hate to sound like I'm knocking the guy, but he was probably, maybe, possibly past his use by date. Was Cam actually unable to see the logic behind the decision? Cam Bruce was once upon a time; a gun. He doesn't have half as much influence on games as he once did. Soft as butter as well. So we now have fairwelled our captain, vice-captain and member of the leadership group (Miller). Expect to see Grimes, Frawley, Pettard and co. really step it up a notch and back up the senior players.

A yellow horse shoe? The emblem on the front? Sounds like overkill. There is no doubt, a time and place to acknowledge our great history; but as far as our playing jumper is concerned, I'd rather they kept it simple. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We already have the best looking jumper. It's the clash strip that could use a few adjustments.

What a fine acquisition for Box Hill! Bailey, Renouf, Taylor, Skipper, Franklin, Roughhead. Really Hawthorn? Another ruck/forward?

41 goals in his first 17 games!! Incredible... I think the only opponent that can possibly beat him is his own confidence and injuries. He is already the most exciting player to watch I've seen at Melbourne, and could well be the difference as to whether we play finals or not.

When he came to the club he was noted for his kicking ability, which I haven't really seen. Hope it's just a confidence thing which he grows out of, rather than the alternative meaning he just ain't good enough.

I love Junior, as we all do, but when you miss around half a dozen weeks with a standard hamstring injury, your time is up. Champion bloke. Champion player. But Carlton, or anyone, would be making a mistake if they picked him up.

By the time their younger players really gel and get going, their recruits will be at the wrong end of their careers. The salary cap advantages should hopefully have expired by then aswell and they can all go and sit on their face!

OK so we're not blaming the umps for todays loss. That's fair. I guess... But Frawley (despite the umpires best effort) beat Franklin today. He didn't smash him, he beat him. Looking at Frawley you can see he is built like brick sh*t-house, but it is his speed that has impressed me of late. Hughes WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER wear an AFL premiership medal around his neck; so at the end of round 20 with the slightest of chances of playing finals, we should not be talking about him. We all know why we lost today. Hawthorn aren't exactly a better team than us. They executed their game-plan better and had a nice run with the umps n injuries etc. But it was about 3 weeks ago they where being touted as a premiership chance!! Hard to believe yeh... I think I'm rambling... We lost today and it sucked! But how good can we get over the coming years???? GO DEES!!
