Seems like every year, Salopek is a chance to be traded... Would love Clinton Young at the dees. Knows how to kick a footy.
-
Not quite sure if it's T Macs skills that are poor, but it's his decision making that kills him. Some players can get the footy, have a good look around, check themselves out on the scoreboard, then casually hit a target lace out. McDonald constantly runs himself into trouble

He really has to respect his limitations. To often tries to be too fancy, must play the percentages

What's been worse? Gold Coast or the umpiring?

Magner on - Morton off. Thank christ. At least Magner will look like his trying to stop Ablett

Do you know why that is?

Chris Judd's Night of Reckoning - Guilty (4 weeks)
Juicebox replied to mrtwister's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree, 4 weeks for Judd is about right. The Ziebell incident is a complete joke. Even in the slow-mo footage, you can't exactly tell who got their hand on the footy first. Considering it's been just a week since Wellingham copped 3 for clearly going the man and smashing Kade Simpsons jaw, the system has once again proven to be inconsistent and unpredictable.- 106 replies

On this rare occassion, Melbourne has drafted a player with a bit of animal in him. He ain't going anywhere nor do I wanna see him go anywhere else

Maybe the development staff are the Deadwood we need to part ways with...? Bennell - one of very few players with decent skills, but seems frightened to get a pozzie Bail - doesn't seem to be getting any better. Has had his injuries, but in his case, is that a good enough excuse? Pettard - looked destined to become a genuine gun. Has at times looked brilliant and more and more often, looked redundant. May have some value at trade week. I'd like to see Green, Dunn, Moloney, Davey and Sylvia stay, simply because we lack experience.

Which is worse: our skills or decision making?
Juicebox replied to pitmaster's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hear what you're saying. At the moment the players aren't working hard enough to spread and provide a target. This doesn't do the players skills/decision making justice since they have nothing on offer and are forced to kick it to a contest. But what's the difference? Hitting a stationary target from 30m seems to be too big an ask for most of the players... -
So long as West Coast are a chance for the flag, I can't see him going anywhere. But I'd definitely prefer to see the club target a credible midfielder instead of Cloke

26 disposals (20 kicks) at 92% efficiency. Certainly is the type of player we need

Weather's meant to be fine/sunny for the game, which is no good for us. Melbourne seem to have played their best footy in the wet

Goal kicking is the one of those things you can't really just practice over and over and over again, and expect to see results. Kicking goals at training is a lot different to kicking goals in match, where you're being watched by thousands of people and the result of the kick is actually relevant. So much of a good technique is fueled between the ears.

God he had some talent

What are Geelong going to offer for Boak? Same with Essendon and Carlton. It's clubs like Melbourne and the Doggies that have the draft picks to make Port happy
-
Well said. Scott Thompson probably doesn't get the kudo's he deserves. Of course it'd be nice to see him still in a dees jumper, but there isn't many other non-melbourne players I'd be happier to see win a brownlow.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
Juicebox replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd also happily take either Wellingham or Goldsack -
Is the holding-the-ball interpretation really better?
Juicebox replied to Traja Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed. They probably haven't got a clearer interpretation of the rule than either the players or us fans. The inconsistency in the way the rule is umpired is proof of that. -
Kennedy - led AFL in clearances and contested possies in 2011. Form thus far in 2012 has been sensational Pendlebury - gun Buddy - gun

"But you hear about it and it’s a little bit frustrating, because the people who are saying it aren’t actually inside the footy club and they don’t know what happens behind these walls." I think a lot of us here are guilty of that. Brent's form has been ordinary, so many come to the assumption that he is disgruntled and wanting out. Despite this years form, Brent has been a passionate, 'spiritual leader' for years now. That plus our lack of senior, experienced, leaders make him such an important part of our team.

The Significance of the win against Bombers
Juicebox replied to demon-4-life's topic in Melbourne Demons
Disagree. Admittedly, I don't like the term 'honorable loss'. It gives the impression that you're content and taking pride in losing. But under certain circumstances losing isn't always the end of the world. Take the roos and freo on the weekend for example. Supporters of those respective sides would be feeling very differently about their teams loss, and rightly so. Freo had a crack against a quality opposition, but the better team won. North may have well not even turned up, and it's that kind of effort that is unacceptable. Melbourne are nowhere near the most talented side, (at the moment anyway), but there is never an excuse for a lack of effort. -
It was ugly and tough, but it was so effin sweet!

What the frak is the point of the review system!?!?!?!?! Disgraceful

Disposal has been shyte, but players getting the ball of half-back have nothing on offer.
