Great leader.

1990
That 1990 final against WC was like the recent Port/Bulldogs game. We were expected to win easily but didn’t show up. Game lost at half time. We came back hard in the second half but we kept bleeding goals. There was a copious amount of bathwater drank leading up to that game.

Dwayne's Most Watchable in 2022
If one likes watching a player get fatter as each season passes then De Goey is your man. Greene is outrage porn.
-
How far off were we from a perfect 2021?
The Bulldogs didn’t concede 100 points a game until we kicked 100 points against them in a quarter and a half.

So...what do we need to achieve during this trade & draft period?
Naish from Richmond is a good outside running player. He’s worth a go. We have just about every other position covered.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
These nothing in the video. Just a couple of cops talking to him and pointing in the distance. Nothing aggressive or stupid to be seen.

Big Ben Brown’s Wild Ride
I’m sure Tmac is still NQR. Throughout the finals he couldn’t get off the ground when trying to mark and lost his agility. All since that back injury. But he did some very important role play. He took a mark on the boundary to start our first charge at goal and lots of bullocking work at contests as well as shepherding that Sparrow goal.

How many times have you watched the replay?
I do. It just makes the comeback and subsequent slaughter more satisfying.

How many times have you watched the replay?
If fans can remember how many times they have watched the replay in full or highlights then obviously they haven’t watched enough.

Delisted Free Agents
Maybe Naish from Richmond. Good outside runner. We don’t need more forwards, defenders, rucks or midfielders ATM.

The Omens..
We scored 8.16.64 in 1964 GF as well.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Only one of AFL.com writers in the preseason predicted we would make the finals this year. And was for only 8th spot. https://www.afl.com.au/news/560486/crystal-ball-our-predictions-for-the-2021-afl-season-are-in

2022 Fixture - We are the Hard Draw!
I like to see two games at Optus next season against eagles and dockers. It’s consecrated ground for us now.

Carlton to get on the 'selfless' bandwagon

Very clean GF on Saturday. Bugger all argy bargy or push and shove as well.- Merch/Memorabilia
I hope the club will release a full size premiership flag to hang on my flagpole.- 3 goals in 32 seconds - the quickest 3 goals ever?
The Fritsch-Fritsch-Brown goals were just as quick in actual ball movement play if we discount the goal lining up time.- Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Fritsch never got much credit for his goal kicking prowess because many goals look like he got them too easily. Like he needs to kick two to equate to someone else’s one. On GF day three were from easy uncontested marks that a child could have taken on the field. His skills are his quick reactions and ability to find space before his opponent realises he’s moved. Something ethereal in the way he moves. His superb one touch gathering and clean marking also makes it look like he’s under no pressure at all. There is a touch of Robert Flower in the way he plays. Robert Flower in his final season was our leading goal kicker in our breakout 1987 season and played exactly like Fritsch does now.- Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
I believe Kevin Bartlett in 1980 who kicked 7 was just as skinny if not skinnier.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
He reminds me a lot of a developing Travis Boak type.- Proved them wrong
So true. I used to work for the paper before the Murdoch days. The philosophy is to always [censored] the horse from both ends to get it to move. Always try to get readers to stridently agree or disagree. Giving the rational middle road opinion doesn’t work.- Proved them wrong
I read it as he was mis-interpreting his crystal ball. They key difference between this season and the past few is that now we are playing as a team and not a bunch of individuals that’s been a regular Melbourne failing. The talent was always there. Now everyone plays for each other and reaping the rewards. He fails to note that a champion team always beats a team of champions hands down. Being from Hawthorns golden era he should know better.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Demons sell 3 seasons worth of merchandise in the months before GF including 10,000 road to GF T-shirts. Collingwood and Tigers only sold 1500 and 3000 of similar T-shirts in previous GF’s for comparison. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/demons-sold-three-years-worth-of-merchandise-before-grand-final-glory-20210928-p58vi7.html Also Channel 7 are very happy with us helping to them to their best ratings for the year as well as lots of finals series goals which translates to an advertising revenue bonanza for them. We will be prime time queens next season. - Grand Final Violence and the Rules in Finals in general.
