  1. Our ability to finish strongly and shut out the opposition in second halfs stood out again. Only conceded a measly 3.2.
  2. I knew I saw Bevo’s outburst somewhere before.
  3. Clearly Bulldogs rattled by us. Whining about the silly song and now Bevo going psycho chicken on a reporter who barracks for us. He should concentrate on whoever is leaking info rather than vituperating on the messenger.
  4. Last 4 set shots 3 behinds.
  5. 12-4 frees to bulldogs already.
  6. Much talk and had wringing about our defence. I would not be surprised if Tmac get a run down back and Smith up forward if it’s not working. Still our best defenders May, Lever and Salem are all still there.
  7. The media likes to get their populist we told you so narratives prepared before something happens. They would like to print headlines in Thursdays news like ‘Bulldogs get revenge over arrogant and cocky Demons’ or ‘Demons victims of their own Hubris.’
  8. Whilst most pundits agree we are the best side in the competition it is counted by many alluding to us becoming complacent, drinking bathwater, arrogant etc as if it’s a reality.
  9. Sounds like they covering up for some inadequacy with faux rage. As If throwing in the towel at the last quarter isn’t enough motivation.
  10. I hope your sister has recovered well. Heart attacks can take over a year to recover but residue damage will always be there.
  11. Optus Oval loves the Demons
  12. A heart attack can happen to anyone at anytime. I had a massive heart attack 23 years ago and was very lucky to survive. Came out of the blue with no pre existing conditions. I was fit and healthy. It was caused by a blood clot from a detached platelet somewhere. It happened whilst driving and I managed to drive to the Epworth private hospital emergency a couple blocks away. They treated me because it was too late to transfer me to St Vincent’s. Because I had no private insurance it ended up costing me around $24,000. Getting early and timely treatment saved me and bugger the cost. Unfortunately for Shane he did not have timely intervention or help to save him.
  13. Perhaps go the Rugby Union way. No players allowed to talk to the ref unless spoken to by the ref. Only Captain can question or speak to ref. Players can only respond with, “Yes sir” when spoken to by the ref.
  14. Agree on Warne. I don’t believe you are casting aspersions on the other two. Their mouths are proof enough.
  15. Shocked to hear. R.I.P Legendary Australian cricketer Shane Warne has died aged 52
  16. Hard to get into the groove after 5 months of wallowing in GF glory. Nothing wrong being reminded they are mere mortals again. Party time over. Still the midfield need to be embarrassed for their effort.
  17. In Western Australia they call it AFL a lot. Seen lots of local clubs put signs at sporting grounds advertising for players to play AFL and they call themselves “AFL” clubs rather than Australian Rules Football clubs. Then again, many out west and east consider Western Australia as a seperate country.
  18. Although Gawn had little direct impact during our 3rd quarter blitz, him going forward disconnected the Bulldogs defence. Easton Wood was so spooked by Gawn being forward that he left Fritsch unmarked allowing him a free attack on the deep ball by Petracca for his third goal. The next play Bulldogs defence was stretched badly trying to cover our three deep forwards allowed Brown a clean unmolested mark.
  19. Contested possessions 2021. Oliver, Ist with 434. Petracca, 3rd with 349. Bontempelli, 12th with 291.
  20. I like him on the beach. Hate him on the football field.
  21. I don’t care all about this and that free kick. Even action in a game influence the next action and so on. The roll of the dice, how the cards fell and dispensation of karma was so sweet. We won the premiership.
  22. Good player but not irreplaceable and I won’t lose any sleep over him if he leaves. If he goes for greener pastures then no hard feelings. He will always be one of our breakout premiership players. If he stays then it’s great. It’s the price to pay for being a premiership side with an excess of talent and the inevitable salary cap squeeze. Some have to move on.
  23. Good luck to the boy. Flag-winning Demon to go under the knife
  24. Scott knew his ageing team was shot and was perhaps having thought bubbles on how to engineer an advantage if the game was postponed so that a refreshed Geelong and “ the opposition” had to face off on equal terms with “the opposition”having the possible disadvantage of not playing a game for 3 weeks. It would have been a radical precedent to postpone a game because a few players had a tummy bug. Never happened before.
