  1. I got a similar feeling. Even Beveridge did not seem to put a lid on the euphoria after the game. Then again this team has defied a lot of the accepted perceptions of how the game is played both on the ground and in the head. They are not like us. The only real poor game they played was against Freo in the last round when they had absolutely nothing to gain by trying to win.
  2. I liked it when we played "We could be heros" in the 90's.
  3. And they were widely tipped for the wooden spoon in 2014.
  4. Amazing resilience by the dogs. Twice they looked like getting rolled over in the second half. They found something when dog tired to snuff out the GWS running machine.
  5. They should have a little finals pain first. Like every other club has.
  6. Saw a fan holding up a Melbourne flag behind one of the goals
  7. Seen enough of the game for a long time to be cynical about everything involved with it.
  8. Hypothetically,. an agreement could have been made in principle with Freo when they were riding high last season. Since then they have fallen in a heap and there appears to be a lot of player unrest. Now WC are also in the picture. Not surprised if cold feet have come into play.
  9. Good to see the umpires more resistant to the patented Selwood brothers ducking technique.
  10. If you can't handle diverse opinions, head buried in sand is the best place to be.
  11. Put me in the not worth keeping group. He is a distraction now and also in the future for whoever he plays for. Needs a big attitude makeover to turn me.
  12. If Fyfe is fit I doubt he would go back to his midfield role. He would make an awesome permanent CHF. ATM a kind of variation of the chicken and egg problem. Potential stardom with issues versus made superstar with injury.
  13. And the entire Fitzoy Football club. Mr destinations = premierships Martin Pike says hello too.
  14. I don't recall the likes of J Brown or even Carey being afflicted by the sulks early in their careers like Hogan. Their progress to superstardom was steadily linear from the beginning. Their application and work rate as well as loyalty was always a 100%. Leadership potential oozed. Physically they are all matching beasts. Upstairs, there is no comparison.
  15. We had a similar situation with Scully and the mysterious China trip. When eyebrows were raised by his early return the DL thought and morality police were quick to pounce. Many of the same ones are still around now. The acceptable explanation for his early return was that his sister was sick and had to rush home. Shame on anyone who questioned this. As it panned out he conveniently also had time to make acquaintance with GWS. As for Hogan, he dad may be ill or not but I have long suspected he has wanted out for a very very long time going back to last year.
  16. I believe it is all about trade currency. They don't won't to give up made players or real talent. Freo needs to keep theirs to improve and WC to make the next step. Time is on their side. Money is not the issue.
  17. I said possible. I am suspecting talks have happened between the clubs. Problem is that Freo have little to offer and likely won't trade their big names. So it may be stalled or not.
  18. I would love him with us. Best value midfielder in the market at the moment. I suspect though he may have been steak knives in a possible stalled Hogan deal.
  19. Much in my line of thinking. Carey chanelled his alpha male arrogance into his game, not for petty sulks and made his teamates walk taller. His problems were personal and off field. Buddy had a strong club to keep him line and proved to be not such an essential player in their machine. The other names you mention along with the Lockett's and Richo's have not one flag between them. Hogan can take his distractions elsewhere.
  20. Good pick up and great to have another player who can kick the ball.
  21. That was a good game by him and showed what he is capable of. Busting packs, rag dolling opponents and playing with positive enthusiasm and energy. Seen very little of that since.
  22. Better develop a new forward line and cut our losses. We can't afford another Frawley half arsed scenario and another treading water season. If Hogan has any dignity he will play like Ablett, Dangerfield and Franklin did in their last season for their previous clubs. GIven Hogan's attitude, I seriously doubt he will give a 100%.
  23. ...except play at Casey if his back remains good.
  24. Good luck to him. Another of the old crew gone.
