Good heavens Luci !!! I must say I never picked you as some sort of insurrectionist ! Your quite appalling suggestion that blokes do the cooking while sheilas sit back and tipple vino gave me quite an attack of the vapours. It's contrary to natural order of things ..... I have to stop writing ...... the mere thought of it ....!!!!

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Bitter but optimistic replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Here's my tuppence worth on this matter. If you are writing some sort of formal document or academic submission then accuracy in spelling and grammar is vital. However, on platforms like Demonland it's more about people being able to comfortably and confidently express their opinions on a subject they are no doubt passionate about. Provided the meaning of their submission is clear, I see no good reason to dampen their enthusiasm with unnecessary pedantry. -
Probably best if other possible explanations for HJ's are considered hands off.

My recent tour through the outback led me to reminisce on the good old days in our fine country. In particular, seeing a few old church halls and " Mechanic's Institutes " where many a dance, engagement party or other community event took place made me remember that famous ( and very important ) decree , "Ladies bring a plate " There was a very clear social order in the good old days. Blokes drank beer and sheilas made lamingtons. Nowadays things are very confused. Even a simple a simple request like asking a sheila to hop it to the fridge and get get you another coldie is considered offensive in some circles. Which, as an aside, makes me wonder what the sheilas who post on this thread would provide if asked to "bring a plate". For the purposes of personal safety, however, I'd put that request in writing rather than face to face) I gather from @WalkingCivilWar 's posts, that she can barely boil water - so no chance of a decent feed there. @Lucifers Hero often mentions wine, so she might bring a decent shiraz. Arrrh ..... the good old days !!!!

I'm opting more for the gracious lifestyle of The Manor these days LDC.

Thanks mono, I usually pick up typos but ..... Anyway, I'd go for Johann Sebastian .

It will be interesting to see if May gets the umpires vote for this game. Defenders have traditionally not polled over well in the Brownlow but that was an outstanding Bachman's game worthy of the maximum.

This Friday night versus Brisvegas is getting bigger and bigger !

Eloquent and precise as always RTG !!

You took that question right out of my gob Jaded. Hibbo if fit , is the man

Couldn't understand the negativity on the Game Day thread - it was a high pressure game. The Aints were fighting us for a top four spot and the came hard at us. We absorbed it and kicked a winning score against a good defensive side. We did enough and ... FFS .... took the 4 points. And .... Woey - a very promising debut. BBB - good signs and added a positive factor to our forward line. S. May - You will not see a better defender's game. BOG !!!

hahahahah! You wouldn't want to sit near me Jaded.

I don't know how many others share my view Adam but I detest the seating and the atmosphere. As a Trident member, I have an excellent seat and facilities at the G , so I suppose that spoils me. I did, however, attend a few years ago as a guest of a Saint's member ( at least trident equivalent) and they had an excellent room , facilities and view from level 2. The name of the room/area eludes me at the moment.

I can't answer your enquiry dc but I will caution you on the likelihood of altitude sickness !

I shall be watching this epic from the balmy confines of The Manor surrounded, naturally, by canapés and matching beverages. I simply hate Darklands and will not view football from that hole. Certainly looking forward to young Woey's debut and wish him well. On the other hand, I'm not sold on our forward set up and am most interested to see if we can straighten up - in all senses. The aints , however, are going to have their own forward issues when confronted with Messrs May, Lever etc. Dees by 27. Three Brownlow votes to Trac.

Don't like him - he reminds me of Stuart Broad too much

He provides the answer to those who may wonder why we call Americans "septic tanks" !

At the risk of a ban for racism I must say, what a bunch of whinging [censored] ants the pommy bastards are ! Every club or park cricketer knows you wait for the call of “over” before you wander down the pitch FMD !!! I’m now putting them on the same level as the the filth

Agree Rod! Very poor organisation and crowd facilities. Limited catering. Limited toilets. Poor access and exit to the ground. Inexperienced security staff. One bright feature though. Myself and my GD walked into the corporate area at half time and had a very nice free lunch.

I'm far from a renowned forecaster dazzle but from my observations it will be better this arvo!

That's very gracious of you to say so Rod! Although, even I will admit that the ravages of a hedonistic lifestyle have taken their toll and the dashing bon vivant pictured has declined somewhat.
